Facial redness treatment

Some fair skin ladies have spider veins on their nose or cheeks, sometimes causing excessive facial reddness.   This skin condition is known as telangiectasia, or broken capillaries, formed when groups of blood vessels close to the surface of the skin dilate and break.

Once formed, no creams or lotions will be able to eradicate the thread veins.  Instead, medical treatment has to be sought.  Apparently, damage to the skin from excessive sun-exposure will also exacerbate this condition.

Two different ways for facial redness treatment are Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) techniques or Omnilux Revive Red Light treatment.

In the case of using IPL, laser light which is readily absorbed by the blood vessels is used to blanch and close the fine thread veins.  Omnilux Revive Red Light, on the other hand, delivers a totally natural method of light-only skin rejuvenation which uses the body’s own natural processes to help counteract the effects of ageing.

In both cases, success have been recorded to eradicate the veins.

But as always, do consult a qualified aesthetic doctor in terms of the best treatment for your facial problem.

  1. I’ve had 5 ipl sessions on my cheeks because I have rosacea. It was very effective in reducing redness, but also painful and expensive! I’ve had some bruising. If you consider doing this, be careful with sun exposure afterwards because of hyperpigmentation. Also expect to look awful for a day or two, sometimes longer.
