Nature’s Gate Organics Deodorant
Wednesday, 14 March 2007
I was really excited to find Nature’s Gate Organics Deodorant on the shelves at the pharmacy.
This is a 70% certified organic vegan formula that is not only hypoallergenic but contains no parabens, no propylene glycol and no aluminum chlorohydrate. At the price of S$10.90, this is definitely worth a buy if it works.
And I’m happy to say that it does…for awhile at least!
I bought the lemongrass and clary sage deodorant stick and to be honest, was skeptical that its totally natural botanical ingredients can get rid of my armpit odour. But it does! My underarms were kept almost fresh after a few hours of usage indoors. Not bad!
It seems it’s the baking soda that helped to neutralize the odor. And the best part is that this deodorant is residue-free and my armpit doesn’t feel sticky or wet after application. I had no trouble using it at all.
I haven’t tested it under the scorching sun though. But I do realise that its effectiveness is reduced when the weather gets hotter. I suppose if I have to stay out a little longer and perspire more, I may have to apply a little more liberally if I really want the deodorant to have more staying power. We’ll see.
But for now, I’m rather happy with this and will probably continue to use it for a longer period of time especially when I’m indoors. Maybe I’ll alternate it with the more expensive but more powerful Kiehl’s Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant Cream.
Nature’s Gate Organics Deodorant is produced without animal testing and with no animal by-products. Apart from the lemongrass and clary sage formula I bought, other formulas like tea tree and blue cypress, lavender and aloe, as well as chamomile and lemon verbena are also available and sold at major pharmacies.
