Viva Woman

This is too funny!  Novelist Jane Austen is considered ugly and has been given a makeover for the cover of a book about her life, a new edition of a memoir by Austen’s nephew.  Instead of using the usual traditional portrait of Austen painted by her sister, Wordsworth Edition have added make-up, hair extensions and removed her night-cap.  Talk about being disrespectful!

According a news report in BBC News, the publisher has said that even book covers need to look more attractive to stand out more. 

Well…maybe.

But that’s really putting a lot of pressure on ladies as a whole to look attractive all the time.  And is that really possible?  Well, yes of course, if we want to.

Okay, just look at Renee Zellweger here.  So different without makeup isn’t it?  I gawked when I saw it at Celebrities Without Makeup from cool video clips.  Others like Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, Paris Hilton were not spared either.  Maybe I’ve not seen enough celeb gossip mag, but some of the ladies look completely different with and without makeup!  It’s really a world apart, going by their worst and best shots. 

So having some super-charged miracle makeup can also turn us ordinary looking women into movie stars too.  Well, for a couple of hours at least!
