Despite the face primers and make up bases that I already have, I still couldn’t resist getting this Sana Pore Putty Make Up Base with SPF17 PA++ at Nishino in Mediya. It’s Japanese for one and the other is that it promises to give me poreless skin with even skin complexion, covering up blackheads, spots and discolouration.
Okay, the truth was I didn’t really expect it to do that much. I’ve used many products to be able to tell the marketing fluffs. But still, at S$16.90, I didn’t mind giving this product a try. If it works, great for me. If not, well, not a big lost.
And what’s my verdict?
While it does cover up my blackheads and the open pores around my nose, it certainly does not conceal skin discolorations or dark spots. I’ll still need a concealer to work on covering those up. Moreover, I need to use a sponge to apply, which is troublesome to me compared to to other bases and primers which I can blend just with my fingers.
But it’s quite a good make up base in terms of the texture and colour. It’s yellowish so it blends right into the skin without changing the facial tone or making it look unnatural. It doesn’t cake the power up so that’s good. In fact, after a coat of this make up base and my powder, my face actually appears whiter and smoother with a matt feel. And my T-zone didn’t secrete that much sebum even after a couple of hours with this one.
So if you’re looking for an affordable make up base, you might want to consider this product. The UV protection is also a major plus point.
