I have been tagged by Ms Fair Face to do this vainpot meme on my personal blog but I thought it more apt to cover it here. I’m taking some questions together and will cover haircare for most parts as well. So here goes:
What five beauty products could you not live without?
Volume shampoo, dry shampoo, hairdryer, deodorant and sunblock. Yes, a good hair day is of utmost importance to me. I can go out without makeup but I can’t go out without blow drying my hair properly. “Does my hair look okay?” is my fave question.
What’s the worst beauty mistake you’ve made?
A couple. Maybe perming my hair and looking like an auntie some years back or using a pinkish foundation shade that made me look a tad like a wayang singer.
What’s your daily skincare regime?
Morning:
- Jason Ester-C Super-C Cleanser.
- Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-free Toner.
- Suisse Programme Anti-Aging Firming Eye Gel.
- L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Fluid.
- L’Occitane Immortelle Very Precious Fluid or Shiseido Sun Protection Lotion for my face and neck.
- Sun Play Clear Water SPF 50+ for my hands.
- Shu Uemura Depsea Water or Suisse Programme Bio Cellular Water.
Evening:
- L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Cleansing Foam.
- L’Occitane Amande Apple Toning Cider.
- La Colline Cellular Eye Lift Essence.
- La Colline Cellular Vital Eye Gel.
- L’Occitane Immortelle Very Precious Cream for my face.
- Vichy Normaderm Night Pore Refining Care.
- Cellnique Pro Sebum for my nose.
- L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Fluid + Jason Vitamin E for my neck.
Add makeup remover if wearing makeup before using all these. If I’m at home, I like to wash my face midday again and reapply my sunblock.
Favourite beauty treat?
For pampering, spa, facial and occasional indulgence with La Mer Face Serum. For treatments, IPL or laser as required.
What’s your favourite beauty store?
In the order: Sasa, L’Occitane and Tangs Espace.
Favourite budget brand?
Neutrogena, Burt’s Bees, Mavala and Body Shop.
Favourite premium brands?
La Mer, La Colline, L’Occitane and Dior.
And hair care?
Redken Body Full and REF 335.
What’s your ’every girl must own one’ item?
Tweezerman at home. Mavala cuticle pen on the go.
And finally, best beauty tip?
Dry shampoo to refresh greasy looking hair midday.
I’m tagging Doris because her skin looks good and I like to know her secrets.

I tried the klorane dry shampoo you recommended. My verdict is it helps if you have short hair but not so good if you have long tresses which makes it difficult for the spray to penetrate. And my! you really use a lot of products both day and night regime. How much time you need to get it done????
DR: Not a lot of time. After bathing, can slap all these on within 5 mins. The eyelash treatment, just before I go to bed. For the dry shampoo, did you get the one that is powdered? It comes with a nozzle for spraying but I don’t use it that way. I squirt the powder on my hands and then rub into my hair. Last time there was a dry shampoo under Wella that was cheap and good. But unfortunately, no one carries it here anymore. Not sure if you can find it in M’sia.
And oh, waiting for your reviews on the L’Occitane’s Immortelle series. Worth buying the entire range? I really love the Very Precious Cream. Works wonders for my skin espy on swim nights.
DR: It’s quite good. I’ve switched to the range cos I’m a bit anal about products. I don’t like to mix brands, as far as I can…Reviews will be up in time. I need sometime to ensure that their results are more or less consistent.
wah! so much effort! and you split it into day and night too!
imp: You mean the effort in contributing to the meme or the effort in my regime? If the latter, understandable lah…girl, I’m a decade older than you so need more effort to maintain…
No wonder. I used it with the nozzle and it’s quite difficult to control the amt sprayed, not to mention getting alot of curious stares when I sprayed onboard the long flight to capetown then.
DR: Huh? You spray onboard in the presence of other passengers? I always do this in the toilet. Powder can fly around leh…*cough cough*
can tell you are a L’Occitane fan! And girl, I have been trying to ask you where can I get Tweezerman tweezers? I realised my manicare one does not seem to be performing up to expectation lately.
msff: My friend bought me my Tweezerman at a shop some years back but she says the shop no longer sell. You can buy it online but I also found that it’s available in HK. At Zenith Cosmetics, RM 201-203 Westin Centre, Kowloon.
wei = you didn’t tell me you tagged me! Good thing I’m a regular to your blog
Eh, what good skin, you may change your mind when you see me in real person. Those freckles are not getting any better with Lumedia leh though I haven’t given up yet. This is a fun one.. I’ll get it done soon
Doris:
Sorry…I thought you’ll find out through the dashboard in your blog.
Good recommendations for products on skin care. This is truly an informative site on all things about beauty and maintaing it. Some of the well known brands might prove to be expensive but its the quality right?
Jillian: It depends. Not all. For some, we’re just paying for the marketing hype. There are budget/drugstore brands that prove to be equally effective as well.
I’m waiting for your L’Occitane’s Immortelle series review.. DR told me about it.. and I was wondering if I should switch.
And oh boy, you sure use a lot of product.. Hey.. any good shampoo to recommend? I have really bad cradle cap, using Nioxin range, but doesn’t help!
I’ll come back to check if you did any review on L’Occitane’s Immortelle series.
