Compared to Jurlique Rose Hand Cream, L’Occitane Rose Velvet Hand Cream is not as strong in smell nor rich in texture. Those who are fond of rose fragrance and yet find the texture of Jurlique’s rich might find this more suitable.
This is a creamy hand cream that is enriched in Shea Butter and vitamin E, yet it is relatively lightweight and does not feel at all greasy even in the inital application. My hands did feel soft and supple afterwards but I find that I have to reapply this cream more often in order to keep my hands constantly moisturised.
Additionally, even though the hand cream is perfumed with the fresh and slightly fruity fragrance of the Grasse rose, the Bulgarian rose, the Moroccan rose and the Turkish rose, I have to say that the scent is too light and doesn’t last.
Hence I would recommend this to those who like lighter hand cream that is non-greasy on contact. Otherwise, those with dryer hands are better off sticking to L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.
L’Occitane Rose Velvet Hand Cream is under the Eau des 4 Reines range and the 75ml tube retails for S$31 at their retail store.

L’occitane is too expensive.
I agree with fwy. L’Occitane is very very expensive! I always look at their products and try different ones every time I go into their shop when I go shopping. but the price tag always stops me from buying their products even though I like some of their products very much. Finally, last Christmas, I bought something from L’occitane for myself-a holiday promotion pack, L’Occitane Discoveries. it costs RM99. I think it’s quite a good deal for 8 items(7 trial-sized and 1 very pretty notebook.)
Vonvon: They are…but some of their skincare products are rather worth the price tag. Those in the Immortelle range in particular.
I love L’occitane a lot. I bought the Rose Velvet cream while my way back to Singapore on the in-flight shopping cart. But mine consists also the body cream & perfume cream.
The price is expensive but worth it.
Love to linger in the shop ‘cos the shop smells wonderful as if you’re in Provence, France.
The cream for feet also gets good review. You should check it out.
I’ve tried a sample of the feet cream I remember…it’s quite rich.
Yes, L’Occitane is expensive but some of their products are good. Also quite happy that they seem to be changing to include more natural ingredients without chemical synthetics.
