Rose Hip Oil for beautiful healthy skin
Saturday, 8 September 2007I heard about rose hip oil from a friend two years ago but didn’t have a chance to find out more or try out related products. The closest I got to was drinking rose hip tea. Recently my interest in this oil was renewed again after I came across many women raving about it in the beauty forums.
Rose hip oil or rose hip seed oil is extracted from the seeds of a rose bush that grows wild in Chile and South Africa. The pressed oil of the rose hip seed, often called rosa mosqueta by the natives, is light textured and reddish golden brown in color.
What’s amazing about this oil is that it contains about 80% essential fatty acids or EFAs. The EFAs are predominantly linoleic acid or Omega-3, and linolenic acid or Omega-6 which aid in the regeneration of skin cells and repair of damaged tissues. What’s more the rose seed oil also contains skin healing vitamin E, beta carotene and powerful anti-aging antioxidant lycopene.
Hence, rose hip oil is recommended for use in the treatment of scars, wrinkles, sun spots, dry skin, uneven skin tone and other skin blemishes.
In addition, I also read that it has also proven ideal for the symptomatic relief of eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, dry or inflamed skin conditions, radiation burns and sunburn.
There are various rose hip oil available in the market. The best would be to purchase those that are 100% organic because it means the oil is pure as it has been extracted using a solvent-free process to ensure the vitamins and nutrients are protected.
I am currently trying out Renew 100% Organic Rose Hip Oil. Even though it is oily in texture, I was told that it would help to regulate my oil production. Well, I’m hoping for that and more. A miracle no less. Haha. Let’s see if I’ll get lucky. And of course I’ll report back here ya.

I use Aesop Damascan Rose oil. It’s nice cos one drop does the job and you don’t need to apply it everyday - tho I do that sometimes
I have also tried Kosmea from Australia. Rose oil does help to smoothen the skin.
Doris: I heard raves about Kosmea but can’t get my hands on it. Hope my Renew will not disappoint.

You are right It is an amazing oil.
Rosabay has a 100% organic cold pressed and we have had positive feed back about it. One of the latest is from a lady of 48 who said she recently had people guess her age as 35 after using Rosabay rosehip oil.
I believe the most likly benefits come when using it on the fine line wrinkles around the mouth and corners of the eyes as well as on skin damaged by the sun or relatively new scars
Graeme: Wow, 48 looking 35? Heh. There is hope for me to look 10 years younger then?
