hi
I checked your blog when I searched for true minerals foundation. and I like your blog very much! I wonder if true minerals foundation is good for Asian skin? i can easily get pimples and is very sensitive to foundation. I have used some different kind of foundation before, but the result was that my skin became worse ...

King: Thanks for coming by. I don't know if true minerals foundation is good for Asian skin. I haven't tried it and haven't come across it. Well, from my research, some mineral foundation may contain ingredients that cause sensitivity and some cause skin to become dry. You can read it here: http://www.vivawoman.net/2009/01/02/is-mineral-makeup-too-drying/. In addition, I covered the ingredients to note for sensitive skin here http://www.vivawoman.net/2008/05/26/mineral-makeup-is-causing-my-face-to-itch/.

Dont you girls ever use scrubs? The scrub beads, nut shells, etc are much more scratchy than the Loreal mineral brush. I really dont understand all this "cutting my face" stuff about. I find the brush useful in applying and blending the mineral foundation and has no problem with a little scratching. It helps to keep my face smooth as I get a mini scrub everyday.

And when is talc not a MINERAL?

Ferarri: Have you tried kabuki brushes? They're soft. Even those made from animal hair are very soft. Why should we use anything scratchy everyday on our faces when we have better choices? And talc is a health concern for some pple plus other mineral foundation formulations DO NOT contain them.

Another reason I won't be busying this is that L'Oreal tests it's products on animals.

Great posts, I had been wondering how good these products are. I don't trust the "mineral" advertising in general, I have already been decieved when I discovered what "mineral" oils really are !

Bought the Nude Vanilla shade because the beauty consultant at First Aid (Manila, Phils.) said it was the best shade for my skintone and will make me look dark.

I agree, it did have a smooth coverage and controlled the oil on my combi skin, BUT the brush was scratchy! I think this is a terrible sin for any cosmetic company, given the fact the instructions was to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND in circular strokes. With the kind of cheapo brush built in, good thing my skin didn't BLEED, BLEED, BLEED. The packaging LOOKS nice, but actual use is very awkward (hard to hold onto the plastic base of brush!). Plus when you try tapping the brush to remove excess powders, the container is too small that the powder flies all over the place.

Worse, the color on me was ALL WRONG. The worse comments I got: "Why is your face so white?" and "Why did you put make-up? You look prettier without it."

Suffice to say, I only used it twice(costs me approx US$24.30!!). GRRRR...

Rez: Geez...I can understand your frustration. But the brush really looks and feels horrid to me.
