I’m pretty much body happy with an array of bath and body products from Organic Surge to indulge in. On top of the products I’ve gotten from Guardian, I was sent a couple more from the local distributor of the product range to review. So for a start, let me give my views about the Organic Surge Body Scrub, which is currently my favorite.
First of all, let me state that I’m rather particular about the packaging of bath and body products. They should look delicious. They should catch my eyes. And you have to agree that the product packaging of Organic Surge’s products are rather appealing. Clean, simple and yet, they stand out enough for you to want to pick them up.
Second, the smell must be awesome! I started off with Organic Surge Fresh Ocean Body Scrub because my husband picked that up. I was expecting the sort of ocean freshness but it isn’t really like that. Instead, it smells kind of almond-like and more like a cake to me. Although it’s pleasant and has the pick-me-up factor, but I was kind of disappointed that it wasn’t like anything I was expecting. The Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Body Scrub has the same sweet smell to me. In fact, I thought the almond smell was even stronger.
Maybe because my skin isn’t as thick as my husband’s *laughs*, I thought Organic Surge Body Scrub works fine with just the right amount of grains to slough away the dead skin on my body. The grains are not the fine gritty ones but my skin felt well scrubbed and smooth afterwards. I think the oils give this scrub some moisturizing properties and I can use this everyday if I like! For my husband who likes a very thorough polish, this still works well but he’ll just need to use quite a bit more each time.
It helps that Organic Surge is positioned as a natural range with a tagline “impressive results without chemical overload” and the range is inexpensive. So that definitely got me interested enough to want to buy them. Both the 200ml Organic Surge Fresh Ocean Body Scrub and the Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Body Scrub cost S$15.90 each but last I checked, there was a discount offered at Guardian.
Organic Surge range of products are stated as vegan, cruelty free, DEA free, sulphate free, perfume free, paraben free, SLS free, propylene glycol free. In addition, it is said that any surfactants used are coconut or corn glucose based and any antioxidants are vegetable oil based. For the body scrubs, apart from Disodium EDTA that some sources state are toxic, the other ingredients seem safe enough. Anyway, Disodium EDTA is listed right behind so I’m not too concerned.
You may also like to know that Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Body Scrub contains mainly Bergamot, Sweet Orange, Almond Oil, Apricot Stones/Walnut Shells, Palm Oil and Organic Plant Extracts while Organic Surge Fresh Ocean Body Scrub contains mainly Rosemary, Lemon, Lime, Almond Oil, Apricot Stones/Walnut Shells, Organic Plant Extracts and Palm Oil.
Overall, I give the Organic Surge Body Scrub the thumbs up. It’s value-for-money and does contain mostly natural goodness. The smell could be better to meet my expectations of course, but because it’s pleasant enough, I have no qualms buying this again.
