Hey there, this is off topic but I was wondering if you’ve heard about whether taking Flaxseed Oil as a supplement is good for the skin? I’m currently having a breakout that I have never had before in my life. I’m not having cystic acne but I’ve got these tiny bumps that are kinda like whiteheads all over my cheeks and temples.
I went to see a pharmacist, and he gave me Differin, St Ives Apricot cleanser(2% Salicylic Acid) and Kordel’s Flaxseed Oil to take as supplement.
I’ll be grateful if you could give me your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance!
Rachel: Yes, flaxseed oil is known to be beneficial for the skin. I wrote something here http://www.vivawoman.net/2007/03/03/flaxseed-oil-for-beauty/ where I indicated that it is a natural source of omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs) which is good for maturing, dry skin as well as skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. It’s supposed to help with both blackheads and whiteheads too.
