Water is really the best remedy for constipation. For those having constipation problem try drinking few glasses of warm water, drink in a small quantity at a time, you might feel slightly bloated but its okay..try to run some errands by walking around a bit,you can see the difference in your bowel movement..no more painful constipation.Do it frequently..Eating papaya the night helps a lot as well.

Ven: Yup, I agree...

Hi, I just want to say that drinking too much water is not good for your health. There was a time in the 90´s when drinking a lot of water was considering as a health benefit, but in some cases it led to urinary incontinence for young women. It´s also important to keep the levels of differnt salts in your body and drinking too much water will flush these important salts out of the body. And my last point is that bottled water is not a very enviromental friendly habit. We are living in a time when we try to lower the levels of CO2. It is ok if you are living somewhere where you can´t drink the tap water. But it´s always much better to filter the water at home. Good drinking water should be basic with a PH 7. How much water you should drink is also depending of what you´re eating. If you´re eating much fruits and vegetables you don´t need to drink that much water. It´s not good to have to go to the toilet several times a day as somebody above.

Eva: Hey, thanks for sharing this useful info. Filtered water is good but not everyone has that installed so bottled is the next best thing. I guess achieving a balance in terms of eating and drinking is probably the best...

When drinking water, one must sip, not gulp it down. I've been told by several TCM practitioners and even western doctors that gulping down too much water is actually bad for your health. The water isn't absorbed into your system, but is quickly flushed out by your kidney/liver (can't remember which).

The best is to slowly sip every time you take a drink, but that can be difficult for people who are in a rush. Another way is to divide a glass of water into several portions. Drink 1/5 when you wake up, drink another 1/5 after you brush your teeth, drink another 1/5 when preparing breakfast, etc...

Alixana: Hey, this is good info! Hmm...I think there should be some truth to this afterall gulping down anything isn't that good.

I have heard that a sprinkly of cayenne pepper and some lemon juice in water is a great way to cleanse the body of toxins first thing in the morning. I think this is from the Master Cleanse programme. Cayenne pepper in water sounds a bit strange but I tried it and it is really subtle. But I am a great believer in drinking not one but two glasses of water, or more if I can manage when I wake up. I think it stops me from eating too much at breakfast too. Great challenge, Sesame!!

Astrorainfall: Cayenne pepper? Never come across this...have to google to find out what ingredient this is. Hey, I try to drink two glasses too if I have the time cos by the time I finish the second, I have to visit the toilet immediately.
