Lavera Young FACES Mint Blemish Stick

Lavera Young FACES Mint Blemish Stick

I would never have picked up the Lavera Young FACES Mint Blemish Stick & Concealer if not for the S$7 promotion because the original price of S$25 is plain expensive to me. Moreover, I had thought the Young FACES series were definitely not suitable for me since the products are for younger skin. But as it turned out, this Mint Blemish Stick is quite an effective acne spot treatment even for mature skin!

Antiseptic properties with tea tree and peppermint oils
Described as suitable for oily and acne-prone skin, this blemish stick has great antiseptic properties with its combination of tea tree and peppermint oils. I wasn’t expecting too much the first time I used it but surprisingly, it got rid of an emerging pimple on my hairline overnight. However, I didn’t have much luck with it getting rid of the other fully developed acne that quickly. It did help to reduce acne inflammations and reduce their sizes tremendously but some of the blemishes haven’t cleared up completely. But compared to the other acne treatments that I’ve tried, this works rather quickly and I would say it is an effective blemish stick especially for new spots that are popping up.

A concealer on top of its anti-blemish properties
What I also like about the Lavera Young FACES Mint Blemish Stick is that it is also a concealer which blends easily and works well on my fair skin tone. No problem to wear it alone or under makeup. It has a slightly minty smell and I feel a slight tingling sensation when I use this on my skin too.

Long lasting blemish stick
Overall, I do like this blemish stick because it works rather well for me. At least I am no longer bothered by my acne very much after I started using this stick. The 15oz stick resembles a lipstick and will probably last me quite awhile. At S$7, I would rate it a worthy buy. At S$25 though, I’m not too sure because I haven’t tried others to be able to compare its effectiveness. However, if you’re interested to try, you might like to know that is available at a slightly cheaper price of S$17 at LoveLula.

    Sesame,

I’ve been looking for a good concealer that does 2 jobs. Heal and Conceal! Can’t wait to try this one soon…

Thank you for sharing Sesame! =)

    Dee: Hey, you’re welcome!

  2. Nicole says:

Wow, you have got yourself a good buy, although the promo sounds too good to be true, did you check on the expiry date? By the way Where did you get it? Thanks for sharing!

Nicole: Yeah, the product is current. The distributor was running promo at Watsons and at Phyto Organics. got it from Phyto Organics at $7. I wrote about the promo sometime back but it’s over…

those lavera pdts were such a great buy at that price weren’t they? i too confess i bought their stuff only because it was $7sg. i didn’t get this one though. wonder if it’ll go on sale again haaha.:D i’ll pick this up if it does. thanks for the review!

Aichaku: It was an awesome promo! I hope they’ll run it again soon. ?

  4. Leon says:

    Looks like a good product.

Leon: Yes, it’s rather effective. Happy to have bought it cheap too!

I got the body shop tea tree oil concealer stick thats supposed to do the same thing…but then it conceals better than it heals. I got it as concealer as its a good match for my skin.

Looks like this one could be better.

pf: I had this really annoying acne on my chin which was exploding until Susan of True Beauty gave me some emu oil to curb the inflammation. However, it was slow. With this blemish stick, the acne subsided so much that I hardly think about it even though it’s not completely gone.

  6. pf1123 says:

Haha…I would rather have exploding acne rather than clogged pores.

I use 3M Nexcare Acne Patch to suck the nasty stuff out of any pimple overnight. Then I put blemish gel on it and heals in a day or 2. The black marks left would also be smaller and faint. Very easy to conceal.

pf: Wow, what you’re using sounds good.

  7. lydia says:

which watsons/guardian branch is having the promo?

Lydia: The $7 promo is no longer available I believe. It was at at Phyto Organics at Raffles City. But I heard there’s some promo at Watsons now…I’m not too sure though cos I haven’t checked out the stores.

  8. fwy says:

Selected Organic Surge products are selling at Phyto Organics for SGD7 now.

fwy: Oh they’re still promoting it. But I don’t like that brand so much…except for their scrubs maybe.

  9. Gabriel says:

I’m using the acne concealer from Eucerine now, heard that it’s dermatological tested so I bought it, do u think is’s as good as this one @__@

  10. sesame says:

I can’t compare since I haven’t tried. But some of Eucerine’s products are quite good so give it a try and see if it works.

  11. Jojo C says:

I’ve been having some breakouts lately, so I went to a local organic shop (in Australia) to check out this blemish stick you recommended, and guess what? It was 35 dollars (i AUD and $S are similar enough), which means 5 times the price you paid for yours! I didn’t end up buying it, it’s simply too expensive! I needa keep searching for one, do you have any other recommendation?

  12. sesame says:

I haven’t tried others but have come across Jurlique Blemish Cream which should be cheaper since it is from Australia. Another one is Optima Australian Organic Tea Tree Blemish Stick. But no idea if they’re any good.

  13. Jojo says:

    Hi Sesame,

I recently got one of those blemish stick cos it’s on special, however the one that i’ve bought doesn’t have a use-by date on it… I’m a bit worried, does your one have?

  14. sesame says:

Er…I didn’t check. I just assumed it’s okay. But Lavera was clearing old stock so most of the items expire early next year or so.

  15. Jojo says:

oh.. but if u dunno the expiry date.. how long do you know the stick is safe for?><

  16. sesame says:

Hmm…I will just use it for about 6 months and then junk it or junk it if it starts to smells bad before then. The expiry date is a guideline anyway. The best is for you to use this by beginning of next year – I remember most of the Lavera stuff expires by then.

  17. Jojo says:

thank you ! i think that’s what i will do as well haha!
