Manifesto: Carry your life in your bag!

manifesto

I’ve been out the entire day trying to grab some GSS finds and only had time just now to browse through the new online Fashion Nation Manifesto Magazine by the duo at Fashion Nation, Stephie and Dottie.  It’s a cool fashion mag for the young fashionistas; very indie, very hippie and very different from the usual.   I especially love the quirky copy!   My favorite: The modern man is a nomad.  Carry your life in your bag!   Well, at the moment, mine is in my really roomy Shinzi Katoh tote.

Seven natural mineral sunscreens compared

mineral sunscreens

I’m re-posting this because I just realized that I missed out UV Natural Sunscreen earlier!  So instead of six, it’s now seven of the mineral sunscreens tried and tested by Viva Woman.  Most of these natural physical sunblockers, have at one point of time, been ranked as the top 10 sunscreens on the EWG list. However, the rankings at EWG keeps changing and as of now, they’re within the top 27 out of 129 recommended.

Review:LA Splash Mineral Foundation & Blush

LA Splash Mineral Foundation

I was really surprised to learn that LA Splash Mineral Foundation has been in our local market for around three years.  Which means, it was available long before the mineral foundation rage began here!  And to think that I never found out about it until now!

Actually, my interest in mineral makeup had sort of waned after suffering a breakout from using one of the brands, and I had become more wary of using mineral foundation with too many ingredients.  But I agreed to test LA Splash Mineral Foundation because the range only contains mica, titanium dioxide, and possibly iron oxide; ingredients which are unlikely to break me out.

Review:Lavera Faces Calendula Cleansing Gel

Lavera Faces Calendula Cleansing Gel

I quite like the toner and exfoliating wash from Lavera Faces Calendula Series and thought their cleansing gel shouldn’t be too far off the mark.  So I decided to try it when it was on promotion at S$7 from Phyto Organics.

Do you store skin care items in the bathroom?

bathroom skincare

Until recently, I’ve been storing most of my skin care products in the bathroom.  I had a cabinet made just for that purpose and everything that I use on my hair, face and body have always been kept there.   I hadn’t noticed anything amissed until I started using more natural and organic products.  I noticed that some of the carrier oils were smelling weird and some of my lotions were changing color real quickly.  I actually didn’t realised that it was the problem with the bathroom since it’s quite dry and not particularly humid until my clays started to clump up together.
