Ah...I agree that flip flops as a whole are not good for our feet when used for long hours. But I feel that Fitflops are different because they provide shock absorption - I feel it is even better than Birkies. Unless you're wearing the wrong size, you don't have to use your toes to grip on to the sandals. There are also no friction from the strap.

Actually, it feels more like a sandal to me, but designed in flip flop style.

i tried it on once at isetan... it fits great and really feels comfortable. the straps do not rub either.

a summary quote from the article last thurs:

- when one's toes grip the slippers to prevent them from falling off, stress is transferred to the knees, hips and lower back.
- claw toes may develop from gripping slipper straps
- one's sole tends to collapse on the inside of the heel, causing the foot to roll inwards
- lack of shock absorption can lead to heel pain
- friction from the strap rubbing against the first & second toes may cause a wound which can become infected - a danger diabetics face.

they did mention fitflops, but only for the toning and cellulite reduction. there was a mention of this Orthaheel slippers but the podiatrist wouldn't recommend them for long-distances. overall the verdict on flip-flops is a no,
i notice that most of the dangers don't seem to apply to what little i know of fitflop, as it seems well-fitted with comfty design & support.
looking forward to your review.

I was just thinking when I should be writing my review. I haven't been wearing it so consistently except during the weekends. So far, I like it as in it's very comfortable. However, I haven't noticed any toning effects.

What's the dangers associated with wearing flip flops? I missed last week's edition.

I can only say that if you're going for it to trim or tone your butt and thighs, I'm not going to recommend it. Whatever difference is probably minimal. But if you like the design and you want something comfortable, this is great. I am actually contemplating getting another design myself.
