Natural Beauty Inside Out
I love the organic makeup range from Zuii Organic. My favorites are the liquid and creme foundation as well as the blush, which I’ve been using daily. Recently, I had the opportunity of trying Zuii Certified Organic Flora Lipstick in Sugar Plum, compliments from the Australia company. Abbi of Zuii had informed me that their lipsticks are very moisturizing and having tried one now, I have to agree.
I was really excited to find out that tea tree essential oil, which has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, is good at resolving unpleasant odor and hence, can work as a natural deodorant. I was slightly skeptical about the effectiveness but still, I tried first by applying a few drops of the oil neat on my underarms and that kept me fresh the entire day! The only problem was, the strong smell didn’t dissipate as quickly and it was impossible to go out smelling like that!
Lavera has reformulated their Lavera Neutral Sun Cream SPF40 and included zinc oxide to its new formulation in order to meet the European regulations on sunscreens, which will come into effect in 2010. Under the change, the UVA and UVB protection of sunscreens have to be provided in a 1 to 3 ratio. In practice, this means that an SPF 30 product has to provide the equivalent of SPF 10 in UVA protection, according to information from CosmeticsDesign.com.
I haven’t dabbled much with essential oils until recently, when I learnt about some of the medical benefits of eucalyptus essential oils for prevention of common flu from Grace of Geranium. Anyway, I ended up getting one to try, given the current H1N1 virus outbreak and it was put to good use because my son fell ill with a fever last Friday, which later progressed into a mild flu. Additionally, I went out to grab a bottle of tea tree oil essential oil because I remembered Grace telling me about how tea tree essential oil can be used for fever and flu.
