Step inside the world of high fashion

If you’ve enjoyed The Devil wears Prada, then you’re likely to enjoy The September Issue. Unlike the former which is based on a novel, The September Issue is an actual documentary tracking how the legendary Vogue editor in chief, Anna Wintour, and her team of editors created the bumper edition of American Vogue in 2007.

Premiering in Singapore on September 10
So far, reviews are mixed but they’re stacking up well from those who love fashion or are just fascinated by Anna. Well, I won’t know until I’ve watched it but just based on the trailer, I say Anna Wintour is looking immaculately stylish.  Love her hairstyle!  And I definitely can use  the idea of sunglasses to conceal my dark undereye circles in future!  The documentary film will premier in Singapore on September 10.    Not too sure if I can find the time to catch it though.

Exclusive online private sale of premier brands
On a related note, if you’re into high fashion, then you might be keen to check out Reebonz – an exclusive online shopping destination of premier brands and private sales.  Sale events are held for short periods of time and are open to members only.  Some of the brands you can expect to see are Miu Miu, Kate Spade, and Coach.  One for Prada just passed and the current event is 50% off small leather goods from Gucci.  If you haven’t joined and are keen to, click here and sign under the invite of Viva Woman.

    Hi Sesame,

It’s been a long time. How are you? I m studying part time, so it’s really taking alot of my time. I can’t wait for it to finish by year end, then I can get back to reading blogs and doing things that I like.

Oh I m quite fascinated with Anna Wintour. But I don’t quite understand how she can be the most powerful woman in the fashion industry when her own dressing is pretty standard. Her hair style has also been the same for years. I thought they normally will experiment with different styles in dressing and hair? Ha…anyway I don’t think I know alot about the industry to comment much. I

Hi Peapot! Nice to hear from you again. ? Oh you’re studying part-time? That must be quite tiring…but the good thing is you’ll have more knowledge and it’ll become handy in time to come. So definitely worth the little sacrifices.

Actually, I don’t know the fashion industry either but I find her really cool. And I like her style even though there’s nothing outlandish about her choices. I mean, she doesn’t even need to try and she just oozes with style. Yeah, perhaps the bob is so classic but not everyone can carry it well. I remember reading that she keeps a low profile but somehow people just find her so fascinating. Probably her aura?

Wow, thanks so much for posting this… Anna is like a fashion icon and I love to watch fashion documentries, so it’s like the best of both worlds for me! I can’t wait to catch it!! Yea, her bob is perfect!

  4. The Undercover Gypsy says:

This definitely sounds interesting – I just caught Anna Wintour on the David Letterman show (Star World) earlier this evening. She definitely seemed to have a sense of humour.
Thanks for posting this, I’ll look out for Sept 10th.

wow! Is this the season of high street documentary? With Coco Chanel coming out, and now The September Issue. Still wondering if I should catch Coco Chanel. But this looks good! I love The Devil Wears Prada.

  6. sesame says:

Oh that’s great! I don’t always enjoy watching fashion documentaries but this one seems quite well made.

  7. sesame says:

I didn’t catch that show but I read it sort of shed light on another side of her.

  8. sesame says:

Can you believe that I only watched The Devil Wears Prada recently? But I like the real editor in chief better. ?

  9. Tina says:

I can’t wait to see this movie!

  10. sesame says:

Yeah, and even before it officially opened, it’s already doing quite well.
