Yup...some of these are really learnt through trial and error. A lot of times when we travel, we also like to make impulse purchase.

Ya, I think you have a good point about the seasons...some of the products could be unsuitable for our tropical climate. Anyway, I hardly buy skin care products when I travel. Usually, I only buy those I use if it's cheaper than what's available here. But I would attempt makeup.

ya.. the version of the product may not be suitable for the tropical climate..

an example is when i was in Korea, I bought an entire set of Face Shop products coz it was so CHEAP there. it was winter then.

When i arrived in KL, i realised that the products (moisturising skincare) may have been good for winter, but in the tropical climate, it would have been to rich for a humid climate.

so now, if i do go overseas, i'll have to check whether its summer or winter, to be able to get the correct type of skincare products depending on which country's climate i go to next..

i guess this is something we learn along the way...

Hey, great tips. I'm trying a new hydrating serum and it broke me out a little. But it might not be all its fault as I was using a lousy makeup remover at the same time. I'm travelling. So, I tend to bring skincare which are travel friendly, rather than my normal stuff.

Well, in trying new stuff, I think an important thing to note is that we often buy stuff from overseas (because there are so many nice stuff outside Sg!) happily and hope that it would work. However, we neglect to check if the skincare is released at the season which is right for us.

For example, in Japan and Korea, the new version of skincare lotions and potions are released every change in season. That is what I observed. I guess its to match the change in weather. But in Sg, there is just 1 season. So, the version of the products we buy might not be suitable in Sg's climate.

And also, when travelling, many people's bodies just go haywire. So, I'm more incline to observe the weather or timing of release before I buy skincare from abroad. And I will try it when I get back home. :D
