The best and most effective way to use essential oils to treat pms is to combine the pure oils together, add to a base oil (from a nut or seed, i.e. almond oil) and apply to lower abdomen 1-2x a day for a week or two BEFORE the onset of pms. The oils build up in the system and curb those nasty moodswings, an added way to get relief, let's say if pms has already begun, would be to place some of the undiluted blend onto a cotton swab and inhale for about 3 minutes. Oils take some time to permeate the skin, and in the case of the hormonal imbalance which cause pms, they take some to to adjust in the body. The wonderful part of this is, once you've done this, it will work for the next 1-2 menstruations, even if you do not reapply. The best would be for the first time, use it once a day for the week prior to pms - so two weeks before menstruation - then the following months, just 1x a day for just 2 or 3 days will suffice and keep you balanced. Inhalation is the fastest way to feel instant relief, but it's best to give time to really get to the root and remove the symptoms completely. I've done this myself and shared the blend with others and they have had the same great results. This patch is missing the mark just a little bit.

It's a bit mild though...if you want strong scent, try rose geranium with a diffuser.

It has to be used over clean, dry skin. The smell of the perfume will also interfere with the essential oil.
