Do all women like stationery or is it just me?

Had meant to write something about the 2010 fashion trend today but ended up feeling so uninspired. For some strange reasons, fashion doesn’t excite me very much these days and everything in the stores just look plain dull to me. I’m really in trouble because I am seriously having problems finding something suitable to wear to an event opening coming up soon.

So instead of the usual fashion feature, I thought I’ll show you something that gets my immense interests 100% always. Stationery! I LOVE THEM! Somehow, seeing them just give me immeasurable satisfaction – like being super happy just finding an organizer big enough to fit my mini 2010 diary!

And so…I’m a pen and paper girl. I do not have any hi-tech gadgets but instead, I have an A5 organizer that holds all my lovelies. Some of the items in there like post-it pads and stickers do not serve any purpose except to keep me amused when I’m bored. I find myself taking them out whenever I’m free just to admire them. And I’m always whipping out my pretty checklist just to look busy.

Anyway, I’ve added a few more items to my collection this week. The ones with the Matryoshka dolls are to-die-for!  The pictures are at my other cute blog if you like to view them.

So you ladies out there like stationery like me? I think it’s a very girlie thing and personally, I swear that buying notepads and checklist is therapeutic because I’ll be diligently charting down my to-do list every week. And that make me feel – organised, in control and purposeful. And the good thing is, when my diligence wears out and the notepads start collecting dust, I can just BUY AGAIN! o(#k8SjZc9Dxko#k8SjZc9Dxk)o

Where do you usually get your stationary from? I like the look of your organiser! Am looking for something similar myself, because even though I’m a gadget fanatic, it’s a pain to type out anything more than 5-characters long with a stylus.

Usually I like to get them at Artbox because the selection is wide and the designs are cute. If you mean the checkered blue organiser, I got it at Muji. Not sure if they still have it cos I bought it during the sale and it was real cheap.

I love stationery as well! Just bought a A5 organiser with ladder compartments. Hahaha….completely unnecessary. But will, I want to organise my receipts when I travel.

i love stationary in a sense too.. not really the cute-sy cute-sy ones, but i always find myself going into Muji to touch their organisers, to Prints, to Kikki.K and other scrapbooking crafts store. just touching the paper makes me feel happy. hahahahha. i do have an iphone, so i have a calandar/organiser, but i still prefer to have a paper organiser (my current one is a starbucks), because sometimes it’s just faster to write notes and shopping lists and other stuff.

I love stationery!!! Since I was a kid, and now my little girl is following suit. She always likes me to take her into the stationery shop, and she’ll always find something cute-sy and ask me to buy for her.

I agree that with pen and paper, it’s sometimes faster and easier when I want to scribble down to-do list, shopping list, though many times, I have problem remembering where I Have stuck THAT piece of paper. ?

    Happy New Year Sesame!

    I love love love stationary!! I cannot resist buying cute notebooks and letter sets when I go shopping *u* Also stickers! Even if I do not use them, I like to look at them… #k8SjZc9Dxk#k8SjZc9Dxk;

omg I love stationary too! My mom owns a gift store that sells Sanrio things and I used to have sooo much stationary (tons of letter sets and matching stickers, pens, pencils). Back when I was in highschool, we used to be obsessed with trading the little pages that comes with diaries. Everyone would buy different packs and then we’d just trade! Before I moved I went through a scrapbooking craze and was soooo happy I’ve been collecting stickers over the years.

OMG! And I thought I was the only one! haha. Now I know that stationery is a gal thing.

I really love walking in bookstores more than clothing or shoes, bag etc. My latest lemming is actually a 2010 dairy that has a nautical theme cover.

I don’t know where you find the time to write two blogs! I can barely devote enough for one.

As for fashion, I don’t pay much attention to it. I imagine Singapore is like Honolulu, in that it’s best to dress for the weather – read heat, humidity, presence or absence of tradewinds. My latest purchases are a collared button-front knit blouse with 3/4 sleeves I can wear over or under other things. And 2 knit berets for windy days or cool after-dinner walks with the husband. Also 3 new scarves: a sort of tie-dye rose and gray chiffon, a charcoal open-crochet cowl and a soft angora-like rose infinity knit. The A/C in my office starts blasting after lunch!

I love stationery, pens and wrapping paper. But, I try to stay away from stores that sell those items – too dangerous to my wallet! – and only buy when I need something. And hopefully, what I need is on sale. My favorite store here is Papyrus.

oohhh i love stationery ? i love to look at them, hold them, and smile at them (crazy me! hahaha!) i keep a lot and i give some to my friends ? it’s an addiction that can’t go wrong…

  11. sesame says:

Oooh…I love organisers with plenty of compartments! I know what you mean by completely unnecessary but there are always enough reasons to justify it later. ?

  12. sesame says:

I love all types – functional ones and cutesy ones. Muji has got nice stuff. The organiser I got isn’t cutesy but I love it for the simplicity.

  13. sesame says:

Haha…it’s something that starts from young! And good thing you have a girl to fuel your interest.

  14. sesame says:

Oh love stickers! I regretted for a long time not getting this really cute owl sticker.

  15. sesame says:

Your mom owns a gift store??? Wow…that’s like so wonderful! I’ve always wanted to own a gift/stationery store since I was a young girl.

  16. sesame says:

Haha…you’re not alone! I’m like you…bookstores more than fashion stores.

I have to curb myself from buying more diaries.

  17. sesame says:

Soos, I actually have 3 blogs but one I haven’t updated in months.

I agree with you – have to stay away from stationery stores – but they’re just too lovely to resist.

  18. sesame says:

I agree 100%! An addiction that can’t go wrong! ?

  19. Nikki9 says:

You are not alone! I LOVE stationaries and I seriously do love all cute stuffs!!!! my knees go weak seeing those! and smelling those!!! ? Happy new Year Sesame!

  20. sesame says:

Smelling? Yeah, some of them do smell rather sweet.

Happy New Year To you Nikki!

  21. nora says:

Love stationeries too. I bought a super duper cute eraser called Smiggle from a shop in Sydney.
For work, I bring my own cute stationeries from pens, pencils, note book & post-it pads. I prefer to use my own stuffs rather than office ones which are boring & cheap! Love cutesy & girly stuffs. I also like cute accessories like my teddy bear hair bands.

  22. sesame says:

Wow, you bring your own stationery for work? But it sure brings more inspiration I’m sure. ?
