Do you wear G-string: pleasure or pain?
Sunday, 7 February 2010
Chinese New Year is next week so it’s time to get some new undies! Last year this time, I posted an entry asking if you wear matching bra and panty. This time, I want to ask you: do you wear g-string panties?
It’s a curious thing to me because I find g-string extremely uncomfortable to wear. I have one but I think I only wore it once perhaps. Or maybe not. It’s supposed to be a sexy underwear to make your panty lines invisible under what you wear, especially close-fitting clothing. But seriously, the minimal amount of fabric and string really do not offer me any comfort down there. In fact, I find it literally a pain in the butt.
Anyway, I found this Anabelle G-string Panty with 19 mm acrylic beads and strong jewelry threads at BeadMania Collection over at Etsy. Very interesting looking isn’t it? It is described as a body-jewelry which can be worn with different style of tops, as a swimwear or a piece of lingerie and retails at US$149. Yeah, ouch!

I consider g-string a pain.

Haha…

Not a pain but definitely uncomfortable. I hear from a friend who wears them that it’s just a matter of getting used to the feeling of having a wedgie

Yep, I think that might be the case…once you get used to it, then it’s okay. But I can’t even get use to it…

hahaha I remember wearing those butt-floss in freshman year of college to hide the “underwear lines” but that’s what seamless underwear is for!
I think G-strings are not really sexy (booty-shorts, I think they’re called, are sexy, esp. lace ones); they’re more raunchy, like when I saw a girl last week working at the Apotheke (drug-store) wearing white pants with a bright pink G-string underneath!

Woah, I have no idea what booty-shorts are…I had to google for images! But I’ve seen those and yes, agree that the lacy ones are nice!

I have never worn a G-string and don’t plan to! the string would rub your buttcrack raw I think >.< gross!
If I want to hide panty lines, I will wear laser-cut invisible panties. So much better~
Also, I sort of thing that g-strings look hooker-ish :/

Wa, what’s laser-cut invisible panties? Okay, did another google for the images and think I wear these sometimes. Yes, they’re much more comfortable!

I’ve never worn a G-string in my life and probably never will. I wear jeans most of the time, so my underwear is invisible anyway.

I find the strings at the side irritating my hips too.
February 7th, 2010 at 11:57 pm
ouch. the picture looks very painful after long time wear!
but I wear them to feel sexy. =)

But do they really look less visible under tight fitting clothes? The strings do show up a bit don’t they?

If I had a perfect body, if my skin was not delicate, if it would be easy to guess the right size …and… if it would be comfortable …. sure I would wear g-strings
!!!

Hmm…never thought it had much to do with size but perhaps the coverage isn’t as decent as one expect?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:21 am
Definitely a PAIN. I definitely would not go to the the trouble of wearing one just to have an aesthetically pleasing backside.

Haha…aesthetically pleasing backside…I like that description! Even with G-string, my is still saggy!

I can’t help but laugh at this article..not that am making fun of it or anything…anyways g-strings are a pain in my arse…but there have been a few times I’ve worn them..after a while you get use to it…with the string resting between your crack..*o_O*…it was so uncomfortable the first time…but I still prefer my comfy undies!

It’s okay to laugh! Haha…I just got thinking how many women really wear these cos I saw them. I bought one out of curiosity and think I might have worn it…otherwise, I wouldn’t know how uncomfortable it is.
Anyway, I prefer comfortable granny’s panties!

Never in a million years will that thing cover my bits and pieces decently and (comfortably) for that matter! Is that bead concoction meant to torture us…..ouchhh!

I don’t know…but I think it doesn’t look so uncomfortable. Not sure how it feels when it’s worn. Probably a little cold?

Why do you get new undies for Chinese New Year? This is something I’ve never heard of and I practice Feng Shui.

Oh no…it’s not part of Feng Shui. For us Chinese, we like to get new stuff to usher in the Lunar New Year. So clothes and underwear predominately feature as key purchases during this period. For me, I don’t always buy new clothes but new underwear is a necessity.

I think boyshorts style are much more comfortable and not to mention would help most figures with accentuating the body’s natural curves. Plus I find there should be no need for g-strings as there are many other seamless alternatives that work just as well with more coverage.

Boyshorts look like the booty shorts Stephanie mentioned? I like the look of them…but never got one to try. Okay, should get one…maybe it’ll help my saggy butt a little.
February 8th, 2010 at 10:36 am
Hate G’s always did!! Like the seamless panties so so much more!!

Yes, they’re much more comfortable.
February 8th, 2010 at 11:14 am
Yeah they are pretty much the same. Depending on the maker, they can cover more of the backside. The main thing I find in common is that they usually hug the hips more which I figure helps create the illusion of curves. I alternate between boyshorts and bikini styles.

Oh okay…hugging the hips…I like the sound of that cos I have big hips. I should try to get myself one to try soon.

Haha, funny issue. I have found that there are a few different designs of G-strings available and they have different degree of comfortableness. The ones with just a thin elastic (butt floss)tend to be irritating a bit even though I don’t find them uncomfortable. And there is another ones that have about 1 inch thickness on the backside. Those ones are much more comfy. I love G-strings and wear them all the time. I don’t think I even possess the regular underwear really. Perhaps you have to get used to it, but once you do you wouldn’t consider wearing anything else. I don’t know how about in Singapore but here in US some “modern” women don’t wear ANY underwear at all. I don’t get it and it’s not my thing, but maybe it also sounds odd till you try…. I doubt that I will though..

I would consider going without underwear if it gets in the way…as long as nobody knows. Hee…

I used to wear G-string often when I was younger and I thought it was sexy too.. despite the sore cracks that it had created on my butt! As I grow older G-string is never a choice for me now! Comfort comes first and old granny panties are the best but I would not want to be caught dead wearing that! Although its already 8months after I gave birth, I’m still wearing maternity panties cos its so comfy and wouldnt look too ugly.

Sore cracks? Oooh…not something I’m keen on for sure. But yeah, I think comfort rules. It’s not sexy to feel so uncomfortable down there.
February 9th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
okay I have one G string
hehe.. I am size UK14 but I got is free size and yay I can fit in. yeah it is not comfy!

Heh…think you’ll need to wear it a few times to get used to it. But quite hard to last even a day for me.

There are 2 types of strings – the G string and the thongs. they are comfortable if you chose the material and the quality probably. they hide the visible panty lines (VPL) but of cos there are people who wear them for vanity sake – making them visible in tight-fitting clothes. for me, it’s more for functional reasons as they conceal the VPL v well.

Ah…I see. That makes sense, that the material makes a difference to the comfort level.
