Street fashion inspiration: Tokyobanhbao

Lately, I’ve been stalking some French fashion blogs and Le Monde de Tokyobanhbao is one of my current faves. The blogger is so cute and I love her photographs and art. I’m not sure if she is Japanese but she does look like one doesn’t she? And her haircut is so stylish!  Although her blog is based in France and written in French, but her fashion is also rather Japanese inspired.  Okay, given their weather, some of the styles won’t work for us but the pictures still make nice eye candy.

So if you’re into street fashion and have not stumbled upon The World of Tokyobanhbao, check it out. It’s written in French mostly but some posts are English translated.  And of course, there’s always the option of those awkward online translations to get by.

  1. Hmmm. I think she is Vietnamese, and many are ethnic Chinese. Banh is bread or cake and bao is bun. Here’s a recipe: http://www.foodbuzz.com/recipes/1391027-b-nh-bao-chinese-bao-steamed-bun-

Her drawings are Japanese inspired, and her book is definitely about fashion and shopping.

Well, sesame, this has me thinking about who inspires me…

    • You’re probably right. I didn’t make the connection between Vietnam and France and was wondering what’s banh bao. We have this type of bun here too.

  2. Wah….this blog is very nice.

  3. She dosen’t look Japanese to me. But her blog is adorable!

  4. Wow this is a great blog! Thanks for the amazing find! She is so cute!

  5. Thanks for posting this. I’m always on the look out for cute fashion blogs. ^^ I like her style, it’s sweet and playful. I also like her little anime chibi drawings of herself, how cute!

    • Yup, not too high fashion. Yeah, love her drawings…I think that’s what makes her blog so cute. I wish she’ll write more English posts in future.

  6. Ahhh I’m from France and I love her blog too! but when you say she doesn’t translate in english , i don’t know why youre saying that because there’s always a english translation of her text , below the french text… sorry for my poor english!
    nn

    • I maybe mistaken but I think some of the earlier ones did not have English words…it’s only the recent ones. Or maybe I’ve mixed up with another blog.

  7. I went to see at a dedication in Paris ( I’m french and ethnically vietnamese) and asked her about that, coz I was wondering if it was because she’s vietnamese because she uses banhbao, and she told me coz it represents both the cultures she loves.
btw it was the dedication of her new book ” serial shoppeuse” :)
