Replace my old Tweezerman Slant Tweezer?

My right and left brains are fighting because I’m undecided if I should get the Tweezerman for Benefit Tweezers. My right brain insist that the new Tweezerman for Benefit Slant Tweezer is too pretty to give it a miss and come on, the current Tweezerman Slant Tweezer is too old! My left brain on the other hand insist that there’s nothing wrong with using the old tweezer because it is still trusty and precise so why waste the money? So which side should I listen to?

Best beauty tool ever
It’s true. My current Tweezerman Slant Tweezer has served me over 10 years and is still doing well despite having been dropped a few times. It’s a gift from my bestie and I’ve been using it every week to tweeze off my stray eyebrow hair…and sometimes armpit’s too. It’s positively the best beauty tool I’ve ever used as it can grab even the finest hair. But granted, it is looking old and dull, especially in the light of new and sexy looking ones from Benefit Cosmetics.

Anyway, I’m also undecided if I should get the Tweezerman for Benefit Slant Tweezer or Tweezerman for Benefit Pointed Slant. The difference is a mere US$5 but the pointed slant is touted as THE ultimate precision tweezer for those hard-to-reach hairs. Perhaps getting this will make my left brain shut up since it’s different from the slant tweezer? Yes, no, maybe? But is it worth it to pay another US$10 just to ship? Or should I wait till it’s launched here? Oh, this is getting to be a bit mind boggling!

This is something that I cannot understand. I have a couple of tweezers at home, including the hot pink tweezerman one, but I never found the need for it. I prefer using scissor tweezers, basically scissors with tweezer ends (small) to pick whatever hair. Even this, I only do once or twice a year. haha. Never found the real need for tweezing.

i say no, the paint will probably wear off with time (especially if you tend to drop them), as with all such tools with an extra layer of whatever on them… and u can always send your plain tweezerman back for free sharpening?

  3. pf1123 says:

    What? US$25, 30?! So expensive!!!

I always let my beautician do my eyebrows when I do facial. I don’t really care abt them. Maybe just use a S$3 tweezer to pluck some hair between my brows or white hair.

I would stick to my muji tweezer… Not very interested in such a flashy tool for such an “intimate” equiptment. Haha. I don’t think there’s much of a difference between flat or point though, having used both types before, except that maybe with the pointed tip, it might be a little easier to get shallow ingrowns out. I find that the factor that affects the ability to grip fine hair depends on the thickness and durability of the metal. But eventually, the best is still to scrub and apply ingrown creams supplemented with tweezing or waxing.

Don’t need to buy, dear! Your old tweezer looks so trusty. I’d love to have it if you intend to chuck it away! LOL!

  6. sesame says:

Not sure about the scissors with tweezer ends…never used that before. Before Tweezerman, I was using Manicure…there is a big difference in performance so for me, this is a necessary tool.

  7. sesame says:

Yes, there is free sharpening only thing is, I need to send to US I think. When my bestie bought me this, she got it from a shop but it seems it no longer carries or the shop is not in existence I’m not sure. So rather inconvenient.

  8. sesame says:

Haha…yes, this is a costly tweezer but it’s really effective. I guess it depends…I tweeze a lot on a weekly basis so I do need something precise. But whether I need a new one, maybe not really.

  9. sesame says:

Never tried Muji Tweezer. Got their eyelash curler and didn’t like it so not sure about their other tools. But you raised a good point – why get a flashy looking one when it’s really a personal tool? I guess it’s the right brain at work…I know I don’t need to spend that kind of money but still, the new ones are calling out to me. Haha…

  10. sesame says:

Okay, I’ll bear that in mind. ?

    doubts means NO…

  12. N. says:

well I say if you want them just buy it! If you don’t and really wanted them, then you’ll feel regret.

  13. sesame says:

    Heheh…you’re likely right!

  14. sesame says:

Haha…hesitation will bring about regrets and also a change of mind! Usually, when I hesitate too long, I lose all interest.

  15. Xuizhen says:

I dun think u need to buy it :).

    1) Your existing one looks fine to me. Tweezer is just a tool to me so as long as it’s not rusty and do the job well it’s good enough.

    2) The Benefit tweezer design is not that great to me, i have seen nicer looking tweezer.

3)Compare to your stainless steel one, the Benefit tweezer is coated with paint which will peel off after a while.

4)The price is pretty expensive for a tweezer plus the US$10 shipping cost and the trouble to purchase it :/.

5)Since it’s still usable and a gift from your bestie the more u should keep using your old trusty tweezer.

  16. sesame says:

Haha…you’re very convincing! I’ve dropped all desires especially no. 3 and no. 5! Thank you very much for helping me rationalize this! ?

  17. crow says:

I would buy it. They are the best tweezer and investing in a new one after 10 years of good use is not too bad. You can always gift it to someone. They are a great company and I believe in supporting them. Would love to see a post on hair removal methods/products etc!

  18. sesame says:

It’s rather tempting in terms of the design but with the shipping factored in, it’s really expensive for me.
