Share: what’s your favorite eye cream or gel?

Hello VivaBellas! I need your recommendation for a good eye cream or gel. I’m currently looking for a good eye product that won’t cost me an arm and a leg. I do love the Organic Apoteke Rejuvenating Eye Cream because it was quite effective for me and is reasonably priced but I can’t seem to use it in the day because of how it makes my skin turn red for awhile. Others that have worked for me are too expensive and out of my budget.

I currently use the Ecobeau Eye Cream on top of my MVO Anti-Aging Oil Plus on my eye area. It’s not bad in terms of moisturizing but I think I need more help there as the crow’s feet and dark circles are still showing up. I’ve used products containing natural AHA that have softened the lines but they’re so expensive to continue. Plus, I would really like to try some new products too.

So would you share with me what’s your favorite eye cream or gel?

Hi!! I have had trouble over the years finding and eye product that gets rid of dark circles. I have allergies and the dark circles seem to stay no matter what I do. But I have found that garniers roll on eye gel with caffeine does help a bit and does help with puffiness. If it is wrinkles that concern you then there are plenty of good creams that are affordable. Try Avon products and no I am not joking. They have some fabulous new generation products that are as good as anything you could buy at a department store plus Avon always have great specials which make them even more affordable. The reversalist range is fantastic!!

I still have yet to find an eye product that is really effective. The Elizabeth Arden eye cream from the White Glove Extreme managed to lighten my dark circles but I have yet to open the retail size as I have 2 others to finish.

The others I’ve tried are either too dry or don’t work at all. The Olay eye gel wasn’t the least bit effective, but the total effects cream was hydrating enough to prevent my concealer from caking but don’t see much difference.

The Skin79 Oriental gel absorbs into my skin very quickly but dries up the eye area at the same time.

I find myself keep going back to Silkpro, although it doesn’t do much either, but I like the hydrating properties.

  3. Audris says:

The eye products from Garden of Wisdom seem to have good raves and the ingredient lists would probably meet with your approval ?

  4. Raelynn says:

Was going to mention garden of wisdom too! I’m currently using their goaway circles and waxless eyecream at the same time. Takes some time to work but puffiness is reduced. Waxless or original cream or even the q10 would depend on skin type or purpose. No harm trying out their sample sizes but if you’re not getting anything else, would probably have to wait till Angelina from msshopalot to resume her sprees…

  5. wyn says:

the one from Caudalie is quite good. it pretty much fixes up my dark circles and fine lines quite well without being too heavy.

  6. nattalliee says:

have u tried Bods eye cream? its rather stongly herbal smell but pretty effective in helping fine lines…

  7. Anita says:

Wanted to try the garniers roll on for a while. So you say its good? I give it a go ?

  8. Anita says:

My HG since over a year is MEmu Oil from sweetcreekherbs on etsy. I use it almost daily as an overnight treatment around the eyes. It helps my eyes stay wrinkle-free ? Beside emu oil, jojoba, and other skin rich oils Kathleen added seven skin rich herbs (marshmallow root, echinacea leaf, comfrey leaf and root, calendula, chamomile, and elderflower). I stumbled across this product because I once made this test on totalbeauty.com where the recommended the right ingredients for your personal perfect eyecare product. This oil had most of the recommended ingredients included ?

  9. sesame says:

Yup, agree…hard to find good products for dark circles. I usually only see slight improvement. Haven’t come across one that can help cos I guess for most of us, the problem is a result of internal issues.

Caffeine works with puffiness but not so keen on Garnier. Haven’t come across Avon’s range but it sounds interesting. Will check it out online as it’s not widely available here.

  10. pf1123 says:

I just bought that from Paris! Have not tried that yet as I have yet to use up those I bought from Loccitane, Olay and Cellinique.

Sigh. Fine lines. My no. 1 problem now.

  11. sesame says:

Eye products are tricky. I have come across some that work after applying for awhile but the results are still not so ideal. Others work but there is always one issue or another. Unfortunately, the skin around our eyes are so thin and sensitive to lines…

  12. sesame says:

Oh GOW? I should check them out. It’s been so long since I last bought stuff from them. Thanks for highlighting! ?

  13. sesame says:

Yeah, I haven’t seen her sprees for GOW. I want to get some ingredients and was hoping to join her sprees…but it always closes very quickly.

  14. sesame says:

Ah…I believe the brand is available at Sephora…going to check it out next when I’m at the stores. It has very good reviews from the ladies at EDS.

  15. sesame says:

Oh I was just thinking about it! I wanted to ask for advice the last time I reviewed the cleanser but forgot. I checked it out twice but stopped short cos I wanted to look around more. I like the clean ingredients but I didn’t have a chance to test out the texture cos the tester was dry…LOL. S$68 is a little high but the size is quite big.

  16. sesame says:

Sounds interesting! Thank you for sharing…I’m heading over to Etsy to check now. ?

  17. sesame says:

I use oil and the fine lines are less visible…but they’re still there and particular evident say I use a drying concealer or powder. Can’t get rid of them too. I’ve got deep crow’s feet now and I hate to smile or laugh cos of that. ?

  18. yay says:

i used Garniers eye roller but it doesn’t seem to work for me…. i had it for awhile and everyone seem to rave about it & i finally give in and bought it…. nothing…. i hardly use eye cream or gel even though i have dark circle…. it seems to give me a little white spot like whitehead or something around the eye area….

  19. Audris says:

Yea, that’s a bummer, I couldn’t get to join her sprees previously and now she’s put them on hold. I’m opting for the US$13 Priority Envelope option. Guess I’ll hold off my bulkier purchases till I catch a spree for them ?

Yup, the waxless Majik and one of the other depuffer eye gels will be on my to-order list!

  20. sesame says:

That’s milia if I’m not wrong.

  21. sesame says:

I’ve never ordered directly as I usually only want one or two items. Will take a look at the shipping if it’s worth the while. I didn’t know she’s putting the sprees on hold; she used to spree at GOW at least once a month if I remember correctly.

  22. rinaz says:

I dont like Garnier when it comes to their eye-roller and neither do I like Nivea when it comes to their eye cream because it stings my eyes. So far I’m sticking with Olay. So far, so good.

  23. pf1123 says:

Yes. I like the concept of the brand. So, I’m trying this out.

  24. astrorainfall @ beauty box says:

Wow…emu oil… My curiosity is piqued now..

  25. Kellie says:

Well yes I think it is good but as I say it does not get rid of the circles as nothing does but it has helped for me at least. I tend to use it in the morning to wake me up so to speak!!

  26. Kellie says:

Yes it is so true – it took me a while to realize that just applying a cream was not going to work for me no matter how good it was!! Internal issues do not respond to external products!! They should invent a dark circle pill. The only time my dark circles went was when I spent a month in a different country!! Where I live the allergy rating is really high! Well I like garnier so I suppose it goes to show different things work for different people!!

  27. sesame says:

I guess different products work for different people. Olay is a good product for the price point though cos I keep reading raves about some of their stuff.

  28. sesame says:

Emu oil is good stuff but I feel there are different grades to the oil. I’ve tried some that are really great where you see almost instant results in terms of penetration and others that are a bit “meh”.

  29. sesame says:

A dark circle pill would be an excellent idea! Many years ago, there was a feature in our local Chinese newsletter regarding a remedy for dark circles but it involved brewing and cooking…too troublesome.

  30. wyn says:

Ya I hope it works out for you, although I’m not sure hoe inflated the price would be in Singapore. I know for sure that in Europe the price is around 25 euro, so if the price here is ridiculous, try asking friends/family who are making a trip to germany or paris!

My eyes were at its best condition when I was using this brand, but I’m not sure if it will work for deeper lines for sure though reviews are in the positive. Good luck though! Please don’t let lines be a barrier to your happiness, cos the beauty you exude with the lines when smiling is far better than no lines and no smiles. Cheer up alright, you’re beautiful as you are ?

  31. Lynn says:

Yes, I have tried the Bods eye gel. Its quite liquid. no milea seeds.. I quite like it actly. Hydrating.. not sure if its helping the fine lines and I been using since last year December and am still on it. Finishing soon. $68 definitely goes a long way. ?

  32. pf1123 says:

I got it in Paris for about EUR27.

  33. edrienne says:

is it the vitamin c eye serum from Bods? or is it a different one? ’cause you mentioned ‘cream’ and not ‘serum’… I haven’t heard of it before and I’m interested ?

  34. edrienne says:

hmmm.. what’s the site address for Etsy? ? TIA!

  35. sesame says:

I agree too…better to be a happy person with expression lines than a miserable person with no lines. But good thing I’m naturally a non-smiling person. ? But I do laugh a lot. ?

  36. sesame says:

Wow, so it’s going to last maybe a year? I get bored easily though. Let’s see how. It’s been shortlisted as one of the potential purchase. ?

  37. sesame says:

Should be the eye serum cos there’s only one selling at S$68. Sometimes we can’t remember exact names… ?

  38. edrienne says:

Ohh… In that case, if you’re looking for a ‘moisturizing’ one, I don’t recommend it. I see it more as a nourishing “in-the-long-run” serum. It firms the skin very well but really doesn’t remove lines. It certainly doesn’t help with dark circles–sometimes makes it worse if you apply too much. It can also sting the eyes. I’m talking about the serum. ? But I like applying it all over my face, it really brightens the face and tightens the skin the next morning. Sometimes, I apply it underneath but still apply a cream/oil over it if I use it on my eye area. LOL, I should make a review of this.

  39. Lynn says:

    So edrienne,

you apply the eye serum on your face? I agree that it stings the eye.. so the eye serum can tighten and brighten the face also? Not bad then if one serum for 2 use.

  40. edrienne says:

Hi Lynn, I apply a little amount to my entire face (2 times a week or so..) I don’t use it everyday ’cause I realized that my skin gets used to the product and stops reacting if I use it too often. I experimented on it once on my entire face but then after 1-month, I noticed it made my skin firmer and texture became nicer, in general. I think of it as a long term investment. If it can’t erase wrinkles, at least good for prevention. So yeah, not bad indeed.

  41. Bakupaku says:

The L’Oreal Revitalift Double Lifting Eye was recommended by the Taiwanese variety show, 女人我最大. It was rated the best eye cream in one of the surveys. Anyone tried?

  42. Miss Vinny says:

Btw, does anyone from Singapore use the MEmu oil for the eye areas and how has it worked so far for wrinkles, dark areas and puffy eyes? Might be keen in getting a sample from someone who lives in Singapore because it seems wasted if the full product doesn’t work.

    Thank you!

  43. Keidi says:

Seems like the Bod Eye Serum can only be used at night as it contains Vit c…

  44. sesame says:

If you apply sunscreen over, you can still use it at night. MVO Face Screen Plus can be used over the eyes.

  45. Keidi says:

Still deciding about Bod Eye serum…many reviews shared that it stings!

Liang Shing of i-lovemylife shared about Paul Penders Essential Eye Gel. Sounds really good. It’s made up of herbal ingredients and they are slightly more premium according to her. Go check it! I’m trying to read up on reviews of it online still…

  46. sesame says:

Okay…just that I have a few products to try now so probably later. If you get it and it’s good, let me know K?

As for stinging, it’s cos of vit C…to me it’s a good sign cos it means it’s doing something. Haha…but, not everyone likes it and some may get redness or something.

  47. Xi Xi says:

I emailed the seller of this oil months ago and I discovered they simply mixed the oils themselves and had only tested it on some people. I decided not to get it after all since it was meant to be a gift for an allergy sufferer.
