Matryoshka dolls go organic & eco friendly

So I got my first 100% organic cotton tee and it just has to be one with the Matryoshka dolls. The Etrican top is made with 100% certified organic cotton, which is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and from plants which are not genetically modified. So this top is both environmentally friendly and supposedly kinder to my health, since it is free from toxic chemicals usually used in the production process of regular cotton.

Well, I’m not too sure about the health part but other than the fact that it’s comfortable, it doesn’t look or feel that much different from the regular cotton tees to me. However, I like the idea that because this top 100% organic, it is made with eco friendly processing that does not compromise workers’ health and helps reduce water and electric use and toxic runoff. By the way, the top is made in China.

This top retails at S$36 at i-lovemylife.com but I paid S$29 because of a special discount given to me. The reason I bought it is really because of the design – I love anything that has the cute Matryoshka doll – and not because it is 100% organic. But having tried this now, I kind of like the idea of wearing something that is organic and eco friendly.

Are any of you into eco friendly 100% organic clothing?

Hah, I was hesitating to buy this piece and I didn’t in the end. Instead I got myself the Leopard Camouflage! It looks great on you!

It would be a great idea if they could come out with more organic apparels, which are attractive and stylish. That would be a perfect combination. Price wise, I think that it’s a good price.

Hi Sesame. Yes, I would like to have some cute cotton and eco friendly tees like yours. Here in Puerto Rico, we had hot and very humid weather all year round. I will like to check the website you mention. The size of that shirt is true to size? Sometimes I don’t buy clothing online because I don’t know if sizes runs bigger or smaller than normal. By the way, your necklace looks fantastic with that shirt.
Where did you get that necklace? Bye.

Oh you got the Leopard Camouflage? That’s a pretty design too! I agree that the price is quite good for this range and I don’t mind getting more if they offer more designs.

I know your reservations about purchasing online. I have that problem sometimes so I don’t get that many pieces or I stick to those brands that fit me well. The size for this piece is good…this is a size S and it fits me well.

I got the necklace from here:

It’s a local store at Etsy.

Ooooh, I love the sleeves, not cap, normal nor too overwhelming with the flutter edges. The prints are so cute too! Pretty buy!

  6. sesame says:

Oh yes, I love the sleeves too…it’s not typical of the the normal tees.

Congratulations on your firt 100% organic cotton tee! I am a huge fan of organic cotton, I buy mine from Trafaluc at Zara, and it had cat prints. So cute ?

  8. Evelyn says:

I don’t think about this when I buy clothes. I don’t stop to see if it is made of organic materials or not. If I like the way it looks, I just buy it! I don’t think that this is a bad thing. I also suppose that organic means more expensive.

  9. sesame says:

Yup, agree…I’m like you. Design first. Organic usually comes with a pricey tag. But good thing this one is fairly reasonable.

Oh at Zara? Hmm…I must take a look if they have it here. I hardly shop at Zara.
