Aveda: high performance premium hair care range

Some of you may have read my brief impression of some of the hair products in Urban last Friday and may be curious as to how the products stack up against one another. Hence, I thought I’ll share a more detailed review of some of my favorites. I’ll kick start with a review of the shampoos and conditioners I’ve used under the Aveda range because I already received some questions pertaining to them.

Avène Thermal Spring Water: my dry skin savior

Recently I had a bad tummy and I couldn’t drink a lot of water. As a result, I suffered from dehydration and my skin became very dry. My cheeks felt taut and tight and was extremely uncomfortable.  As I had already moisturized my face, I wasn’t keen to slather more moisturizer for fear of clogging up the pores. So what did I do to relieve my skin of the dry feeling? I decided to use my trusty Avene Thermal Spring Water facial spray.

Natralia Nourish Naturals Dry Skin Wash & Lotion

I spotted these Natralia Nourish Naturals products at Watsons and decided to give them a shot even though I no longer suffer from any skin issues now. I like the fact that they do not contain any sulfates, parabens, fragrances or artificial colors and I wanted to find out how they fare compared to Ego QV Wash & Skin Lotion as they are said to be formulated for dry, sensitive, rough, itchy or flaking skin as well as skin prone to eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.

My assortment of products for cuticle care

I find that even though some hand creams are stated to help our cuticles, they do not do much for mine and I need to use separate balms to moisturize and nourish them. I wrote a post on two products I use to care for my unsightly looking cuticles more than two years ago but since then, I’ve been using lots more of other stuff to care for my cuticles. They are not messy to use and hence, I can use them anytime I like. And some of them are really lip balms or multi-purpose balms.

A Tartan Tale: tartan plaid fashion finds @ Etsy

Tartan is not quite my cup of tea but inspired by the new A Tartan Tale collection from MAC, I went digging for some handmade fashion finds in tartan plaid fabrics over at Etsy. The finds are quite refreshing – at least most of them don’t look like Scottish kilts.

Afternoon Tea Time Dress US$75
I like this beautiful pullover french sleeve dress with tartan plaid fabric. The style is fashionable, not boring. I definitely wouldn’t mind wearing this.
