Suncoat: natural, earth-friendly cosmetics

I know something about Suncoat’s water-based nail polish but I didn’t realize that they also have a range of cosmetics ranging from foundation, eye shadows, mascara, blush to lip products until I received some of them through their local distributor here. Suncoat’s products hail from Canada and are positioned to be natural and earth-friendly, with some of them containing ingredients that are certified organic. So did they fare well for me?

Share: is your skin affected by food or by cream?

It seems to me, based on what I’ve read in various reports and facts gleaned from workshops attended, that many dermatologists do not see a strong link between diet and the state of our skin. For example, most of them would tell us that eating unhealthy food will not cause acne, or that they’ve seen no evidence that eating collagen will benefit our skin in any way. They seem more in favor of topical application of products on the skin to stimulate collagen production as according to them, absorption is higher through the skin. I suppose their stand comes supported by scientific data but I wonder if it holds true for everyone. So my question today is: what affects your skin more – is it what you eat or what you apply?

Choke-full TBS Nutriganics Foaming Facial Wash

I’ve been on a spree for products from The Body Shop of late and this was another product I purchased from the store – The Nutriganics Foaming Facial Wash. Actually, this product was reviewed on this blog back in April 2010 by my guest reviewer, Cass, as part of the Nutriganics Skin Care Range. I had to avoid trying the range back then due to my acne issues but now that my skin is clear, I thought I’ll give it a try since I was in the market for a foaming cleanser (yes, again).

Squeaky clean is not cool for your face & hair

I don’t know about you but when I was a teen, I loved to wash my face and my hair till they were all squeaky clean. It felt ‘shiok’, which really means ‘refreshing’ in understandable English. I had this unnatural obsession to scrub every itch of my skin and wash every strand of my hair till they were devoid of any traces of oil. I probably would have love it more if it came complete with the squeaky sound effect! However, over the years, I realized that while squeaky clean is good for the floor and probably our makeup brushes too, but it is definitely not good for our skin nor hair.
