Hand sanitizer: more harmful than you think

Because of how easily and conveniently hand sanitizers clean hands, they are such a common sight in public places these days. Just yesterday, I noticed them displayed prominently for caregivers to use at a facility for babies. Although I always carry one in my bag, I hardly use it as I really prefer washing my hands. And I learnt that this is better because using too much hand sanitizers can actually do more harm to our hands.

Uniqlo’s UV Cut: fashionable sun protection

Till now, I still haven’t scored one single item from Uniqlo. Like recently, I walked into their outlet at Vivo City, made a round, and left empty handed again. Nothing got much of my attention, although I did spend some time checking out their UV Cut collection. Apparently, even though some of the cardigans looked really normal to me, UV blocking capabilities have been added to the fibres to help protect the skin from UV rays.

Honeysuckle flowers to rescue my itchy skin

Here I am sipping my honeysuckle tea as I am typing this entry. No, I didn’t boil those honeysuckle flowers but instead took the easy way out with a pre-packed honeysuckle tea. Refreshing & uplifting: A’kin hair & body products

I realized that about this time last year, I had reviewed some of the skin care products under A’kin. So it’s kind of funny that a year later, I’m reviewing some of their products again, and this time on their hair and body range. I had first purchased a sort of 3-in-1 value pack that included an A’kin Mandarin Shampoo, an A’kin Jojoba & Lavender Light Conditioner and an A’kin Orange Blossom Body Wash. Then just earlier this week, I took advantage of the GSS to buy the A’kin Lavender Body Wash.

Share: your most expensive beauty splurge?

We’ve all heard or read it one time or another – expensive beauty products don’t necessarily work better. Is that true? I’ve even read comparisons of many high-end brands with the drugstore brands. An example that comes to mind is Creme de La Mer vs Nivea. Because of the similarities in some of the ingredients, many have suggested that the former is overpriced and worthless and some have gone as far as to call it a hoax in the skincare business! So is it really true that the more expensive beauty products do very little for our skin in relation to their price tag?
