DIY Beauty: how to make pH level of water > acidic

Since going for my facial at Living Nature, I’ve been experimenting with water. Okay, more specifically, how to change the pH level of our water. I even went out to purchase different brands of mineral water just so to feed my curiosity. In the end, I found out that adding some ingredients in the water will change the pH level and these ingredients include vinegar, lemon and salt. The reason I wanted to change the pH level is to see how different water of a lower pH level can cleanse my skin and so I settled with using sea salt.

Advertorial: vitality & beauty with Inner Beauty

A week ago, I started taking Inner Beauty Japan, a natural and plant-based supplement that aims to stabilize female hormones and protect our skin against free radical damage. This product has been selling at luxury spa shops in Japan for around four years and since January this year, has made its foray into Singapore. Now, given that there are already tons of beauty supplements available in the market so what’s so different about this product?

Share: most horrible thing you did on your skin

I was bathing my son when I noticed he has been picking at a wound on his leg and that wound, which was just healing has been made bigger now. He has this particular bad habit of picking his skin and I was reminded of how I also like to pick on my skin and wound. In fact, just recently, I removed a small lump on my neck by picking it with a needle. (¬_¬)

New Mexoplex and nanoparticles in sunscreens

I haven’t been using chemical sunscreens for awhile and as a matter of fact, have stopped looking at products in that category. But I found a La Roche Posay pamphlet in one of the pockets of my bag and after taking a quick glance, realized that the company has introduced a new filter system called Mexoplex in their Anthelois range, which is a brand new synergistic combination of Mexoryl and Tinosorb together with Eldew, a photostablilizing oil. The new range has been introduced for awhile now but it completely miss my radar until now.

Are organic facials better than conventional ones?

I get invited to facials sometimes but I’ve been very selective as I no longer go for conventional facials. By conventional, I mean those that offer their services based on non-natural and non-organic products. If it’s not a facial that uses natural or organic products, chances are, I won’t accept. I wouldn’t say that natural and organic facials are better but let’s just say, I’ll like to respect my skin by keeping facials in line with what I use on my skin on a daily basis too.
