I was not kidding when I said I shop at the supermarket for my beauty needs. Like recently, I was itching to buy some interesting cooking oils I spotted at Finest; on the shelves were avocado oil, macademia oil, grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, sweet almond oil and rice bran oil. I’ve only used extra virgin olive oil at home but these other oils would make good skin oils. But the question is, can I use these food grade oils on my skin? I know some of you have the same question and I’ll attempt to answer this today.
Poncho fashion: the blanket is in vogue
I was looking through some Japanese fashion catalogs at Onward and noticed that ponchos are featured in almost all their labels. I know some critics find ponchos a fashion crime but well, I like them because they are so versatile and comfortable. I’m not for the tribal style but those in boho-y style appeal to me; at least they don’t look anything like a blanket with a hole in the middle. Or even if they do, they look like a stylish piece of blanket.
DIY Beauty: slather me silly with 623g of oat flour
I am so pleased with myself for having found this – oat flour! I love using oats in my recipe and at one point, used it almost daily either with honey or yogurt to work into a face mask. They’re great to soothe my skin and keep my pores looking smaller. However, I was so lazy to pound up the rolled oats because I don’t use a grinder and so I have not been using oats for awhile now. This packet of oat flour is just perfect for my need and I can use it in so many ways without tiring my hands with all the pounding. And I’ll love that they’re super fine!
Scotch Naturals: safe & eco-friendly nail polish
Ceasefire! That’s the name of the nail polish you’re looking at. Do you think the color is brilliant? Well, I do and I have to add that I’m pretty impressed with how my nails have turned out using this water-based nail polish from Scotch Naturals Watercolor. Yes, watercolor all right, because this is a completely non-toxic nail polish that is not only “3 Free”, but also free of ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, nitrocellulose, acetone, and heavy metals.
Share: do you prefer using body wash or bar soap?
Hey VivaBellas! What do you have in your bathroom for bathing? Is it a bar soap or a body wash? I don’t know about other countries but in Singapore. I’ve noticed that body washes outnumber bar soaps at any toiletry sections these days. In fact, my family uses body washes and right now, we don’t have a bar soap in our bathroom.
