Share: do you have beauty resolutions for 2012?

Hey VivaBellas! Do you have a habit of making new year resolutions? And are any of them beauty related? I used to write down my resolutions every year as I enjoyed listing them and checking them off when they are completed. But over the years, I hardly write them down anymore because I realized I didn’t have the conviction to keep them. But I do make beauty related resolutions; even if I don’t list them down, they’re right there in my head!

My resolutions
In 2012, I am planning to dabble more in DIY skin care and what I mean here is actually ordering some skin care actives and try to make my own skin care products. I’ve actually just ordered some so we’ll see how it goes and of course I’ll be posting up my experiments here. I’m also going to try to improve my makeup techniques, and for a start, just learn how to use a liquid eyeliner properly. And the next resolution is to use more natural/organic makeup, which I didn’t successfully accomplished this year. Finally, I hope to be able to find a more permanent way to color my hair naturally. As for non-beauty related resolution, I am hoping to improve my cooking skills. (~_#k8SjZc9Dxk)

So what about you ladies? Care to share with me what’s your beauty resolution in 2012? Or even any non-beauty related resolutions?

  1. claire says:

ooh ? since my teenage days, I have always had the resolution of always doing the 3 step skincare, drinking lots of water and doing face masks every week. sometimes, I still forget. I blow my hair and then walk out of home and then realize I didn’t use toner or moisturizer or sunscreen D:

for 2012, I want to attempt to use sunscreen daily. Make more cold process soaps whenever I’m in KL. Learn more on Melt and Pour soaping. And hydrating my skin well to prevent whiteheads!

  2. Tammi Cherise Tan says:

One of my resolutions is to lose weight and tone up! I don’t know if that counts as a “beauty” resolution or not, haha.

  3. Lena says:

Have you tried black henna / indigo?

I guess my resolution should be to… Get taller, haha.
I think I should focus on clearing my dear one’s skin up.

  4. Eva says:

To get at least 8 hours of sleep a night! I’ve been trying to reach this goal for a LOONG time. Hopefully this will be the year it will happen!

  5. fwy says:

I want to be able to afford to change all my skin, hair and bodycare including handwash products to organic brands.

  6. Viv. A says:

Those are very good new years resolutions! I would have to share with you the one of using more natural/ makeup. I really love makeup so here are some very simple tips about eye liner that have worked for me, hope you can find them useful. Some of them you may have read in beauty or makeup blogs but i tell them because they are useful for me.
    1) It’s easy to manage gel/cream eyeliner than liquid, becuase you apply it with a special brush.
Ecotools have 2 brushes that are very helpful (bamboo smudge eyeliner brush &angled eyeliner brush).
The cream/gel eyeliner also gives you freedom to make fine lines for a more natural look or more gross so it looks like you made it with a pencil. Also gel eyeliners behave better than pencils in hot or humid places, so you’ll be less worried about “racoon eyes”.
2.- Put your elbow in a hard surface so you can have your hand more steady. With some practice you’ll become an expert.
3.- You can make a fast smokey eye look bluring a line made by an eyeliner with a q-tip or a smudging brush. Next you can set it with fine layer of an eyeshadow of the same color you made the first line (it can be black, brown, gray or if you feel more girly purple or dark green, cooper, etc). Your creativity is the limit! =)

  7. Lore says:

My main resolution is to improve my skin, not only using the right products, but also by eating healthy, taking supplements, etc. Maybe by doing that, i will also get fitter, which would be great ?

Here’s a very useful tutorial to use liquid eyeliner. The writer uses a brush, but i’ve tried it with the applicator that comes with the eyeliner and it works great, too. http://www.keikolynn.com/2010/11/makeup-monday-how-to-classic-winged.html

  8. sesame says:

That’s a good resolution about using sunscreen daily! And didn’t know you make soaps…are they for personal use or for sale?

  9. sesame says:

Definitely a beauty one! I can never make resolutions related to my body even though I badly want to tone up some parts of my body. It’s one area I have just no resolution to even get started. LOL.

  10. sesame says:

No…not so keen on henna for some reasons…but maybe I’ll take a look again. Clearing up your skin…acne issues? Maybe take a look at your diet too cos it might be contributing.

  11. sesame says:

Certainly hope it’ll happen for you soon!

  12. sesame says:

That’s a good resolution…I always just use some of the body wash I don’t use or don’t like as handwash…don’t really buy special ones.

  13. sesame says:

Wow, thanks very much for those tips! I like the idea of resting elbow on a hard surface…think that definitely helps. So I would have to do it on another table cos I always do my makeup standing in the bathroom. And this gives me excuse to get ecotools!

Btw, what brand of gel/cream eyeliner is good as in they won’t smudge. My bestie loves Bobbi Brown but I’m not too keen to spend too much on that.

  14. sesame says:

Ah-ha…supplements…I like! I think I’m becoming a supplement addict but eating right will help you get better skin, more so than using products actually.

Thanks for the tutorial on the eyeliner…I’ll take a look at it soon! ?

  15. xin says:

my utmost beauty resolutions for 2012 will be beating those uv spots! if u can still get it on strawberrynet, i think stila gel liners are pretty good and reasonably price. or use a pencil if you don’t have a crazy oily eyelid ?

  16. sza says:

    My beauty resolution:
    1. Use sunscreen e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y.
    2. Eat more healthy foods. I admit I love instant noodle and fatty foods. So i’m gaining weight until 10kgs in 5 years. I don’t know it’s normal or not, but i feel fat now. Maybe i should try detox too… ?

  17. Lena says:

Does the color not come out right? I heard its good for your hair.
Indigo is from a separate plant though.
I didn’t really mean my skin. My husbands.
He has a good diet, but sometimes eats cheese and drinks beer.
Good thing for your blog though. He used to eat it a lot more ’til I read what you wrote about the hormones. Since then its calmed down .
He had it since before I met him. Hehe. But me too. Now I have stubborn tiny blackheads and they seem impossible to rid.
    Thanks ?

  18. EcoBeauty says:

My resolution is trying to get rid of my pigmentations without having to go for any chemical peeling/IPL/Laser procedures.
Hopefully, I can accomplish sleeping early/having enough sleep. Been having good sleep lately and I can already see the difference it’s made on my skin and my dark circles!

  19. BT says:

My main resolution are to loose weight, have more healthy diet and more exercise. My friend and family said I looked slightly cubby now(!!!).

  20. Kim says:

My resolution is to keep up with my 3x weekly exercise and stabilise my skincare regime and products to restore my skin hydration and also protect my skin well. Currently, my skin doesn’t seem to take well to zinc oxide sunscreen and am vexed by it! It just goes dry and gets blocked. Any tips?

  21. sesame says:

Stila? Okay, will take a look thanks! As for spots elimination, it’s my yearly resolution! ?

  22. claire says:

they’re just for personal use. and I decided it’s too troublesome to sell only to friends and family. and there are all the regulations on cosmetics. I could send you some next year though. ? My supply of cured soaps are all in KL and I’ll probably only be able to get them after the new year. Don’t have enough for xmas gifts for all :/

  23. sesame says:

Good resolutions, especially on the food. Instant noodles are not good to eat too regularly so try to cut down. Maybe you can make detox one of your resolutions next year?

  24. sesame says:

Oh your husband…sorry for the misunderstanding…I had thought you were referring to yourself!

I don’t know about Henna…have the impression that it’ll make the hair too dark. But I’ll check it out as an option.

  25. sesame says:

What pigmentation? Your skin looks very smooth and flawless to me. But do get sufficient sleep…it’ll make a lot of difference like you said.

  26. sesame says:

Well, just watch what you eat. If you look chubby, then you’re not too fat. A bit of fat is also better for the skin. ? Drink green tea and eat more fruits.

  27. sesame says:

Oh exercise is good! This is an area I cannot never ever set a resolution to.

As for sunscreen, zinc oxide is indeed drying to skin so proper hydration is required. What sunscreen are you using? Does it only contain just zinc oxide? Because both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide sit on top of the skin, so they can cause blocked pores for some skin types.

  28. sesame says:

I see…that’s a nice hobby! I tried making soaps at a workshop and it was fun to learn. Thanks for offering to send me some but don’t worry about me…keep them for yourself and your loved ones. ?

  29. Pollya says:

This is an interesting topic! — because I’ve NEVER EVER made, or THOUGHT of making, beauty resolutions!! So my curiosity was immediately piqued when I saw the heading of this post — piqued by what you were going to write, and what comments people were going to make :-).
I guess I used to make New Year’s resolutions when I was younger, but in recent years I just stopped cos never got them fulfilled, and they just conveniently faded off the radar screen…
But if I were to think of something now, it would be: I should lead a more healthy lifestyle — specifically eating more vegetables, sleeping early, and sticking to my exercise regime of at least 2 exercise sessions a week (one jogging and one yoga). As for beauty/skincare per se, er… maybe try not to focus on my facial imperfections so much but realise that beauty is MORE than just skin deep?? ok, trite i know, but… hopefully that’ll help me to “develop” my inner beauty more — being more sensitive/considerate to others, not so quick to judge, keep a positive outlook… … whooo, the list seems endless, but I need to start somewhere, right?? ?

  30. aibicon says:

I would say to be diligent in applying sunscreen every morning(quite lazy to do so as sunscreen are sticky and uncomfortable) before I head out, apply eye gel and TRY reaaaaally hard to sleep early to reduce my super panda eyes.I would also want to try some DIY masks#k8SjZc9Dxk#k8SjZc9Dxkheeheee

  31. sesame says:

Those are good resolutions! Awesome! I think while caring for ourselves and our own physical state, we should remember to take care of our inner beauty. not focusing on your own imperfections is a good call!

  32. sesame says:

What sunscreen are you using? Maybe change to one with a better consistency and that’ll help you to apply it more often?

  33. aibicon says:

I am currently using Avalon organics’ sunscreen . I need to finish the old ones before I can change. If not its too wasteful.Abit more

  34. EcoBeauty says:

for some reason, my skin reflects light on pics so my pigmentations don’t show so clearly but my skin tone is and have always been uneven, I’ve got dermal melasma. ? Seems to only respond to hydroquinone but I really don’t want to go down that road again.
But yes, sleep helps A LOT!

  35. hazel says:

Well, losing my post-delivery tummy has always been my resolution but however hard I exercise, the muscles there don’t get tone. For now, I will just forget abt it and just enjoy exercising to stay healthy.

I have been doing face massage the Tanaka method as well as something that my facial lady taught me religiously. I hope to continue with it for 2012, if not once a day, at least on alternate days.

so, that is my beauty resolution for 2012…

oh yes! Maybe a health resolution too. I’m eating way too much salads and apparently, according to the chinese physician that I am seeing for asthma, it is too cooling for me. Despite my love for salad, I will probably try to cut down to twice a week? (“,)

  36. Vonvon says:

I think mine would be NO BUYING of makeup, and to use as much makeup from my stash as possible. But knowing that I can’t resist some of the nice stuffs…. Perhaps would limit myself to at least 1 or 2 purchases per month, like Dior SS 2012 eyeshadow palette and more Tom Ford and Suqqu. ?

  37. Lena says:

Ya, I was under the opposite impression. I guess it all depends on the mixture and how long you leave it in for.
Henna is usually golden – dark red shades.

Well, I’ll be looking forward to your future blog posts .
    DIYs are my favorite.

  38. Viv. A. says:

The elbow trick is useful for when you don’t have much practice!
I’ve tried eyeliners from mac, shisheido, smashbox and bobby brown (it’s actually the one i’m using now). All of them are in the same price range (I believe between USD $18-25). They are a little expensive, but I think they are worth it because they last a very good amount of time. My favs are shisheido and bobby, they feel softer and they won’t smudge. I live in a very hot place (about 45-50 C) in summer, so for that I only can use pencils in winter. Mac has longer performance through the day, but I find a little bit difficult to take it off at the end of the day. I’ve read some very goods reviews on the sephora cream eyeliners. They are much cheaper than the above (about USD $10) and the colors looks very pretty. I will give it a try when I finish the one I’m using now or maybe just purchase one in a cute color for fun =)

  39. Nat says:

Oh, that’s the challenging one. I guess my resolution would be to take a better care of myself in general; aka going to sleep at least at midnight (not my susal 3am), drink more water and eat more vegetables (drink less wine) , find more time to exercise and lose some weight (how common LOL), indulge more in professionally done facials and massages and find more time to simply rest.

  40. N. says:

Improve skin texture. Get my strech marks to look better. Improve dark circles. Use products that will brighten my complexion. Find products that my skin actually feels satisfied with. And finally, loose weight.

  41. Brownies says:

Gain weight in a healthy way, keep to my exercise routine, keep up with my weekly/daily beauty routine and stay away from television drama series!!

I realise I could save more time if I refrain from watching TV and doing useless checking of my email and facebook.

  42. sesame says:

Some supplements might help improve pigmentation issues. I’ll be covering that in awhile.

  43. sesame says:

Yes, too much vegetables and fruits can be cooling so you need to balance out with other food.

Tanaka facial massage is good; I’ve been doing that religiously daily for at least a year? I believe it has helped me! But of course my supplements too!

  44. sesame says:

Haha…I think you have a lot of makeup too, just looking at your posts!

  45. sesame says:

Okay, I’ll work on that. I’m planning to move on to using more skincare actives but a bit hesitant cos worried that it might cause more skin problems since I’m no chemist. Perhaps I’ll try body products first.

  46. sesame says:

Oh Sephora ones? I’ve never checked out those…well, I hardly check out makeup anyway unless they’re of a natural brand. I’ll go and take a look maybe after X’mas. Thanks for letting me know. ?

  47. sesame says:

Sleeping at 3am? And what time do you get up? It’ll be good to sleep earlier cos your body repairs itself about 11pm – 3am. Facials and massages are good indulgences and they’ll give you some R&R for sure!

  48. sesame says:

Good resolutions! I never bothered about my stretch marks…once I wanted to use derma roller on them but just cannot bring myself to do it cos of sheer laziness. ?

  49. sesame says:

You want to gain weight? I gained some this year…well, less stress and more joy helped! I also started indulging in some cakes and stuff now that my acne issue is taken care of but those snacks gave me a tunny.

Oh TV is a distraction and so is the Internet. Haha…I guess you can schedule some time for such entertainment and keep strictly to those hours?

  50. stella says:

interesting concept…i’ll try to keep mine to five:

    1. stop touching/tugging at my eyelash extensions — they make such a big difference, i’m reluctant to go without them even though they are quite a hassle…bonus points for my face whenever i have them on as i can’t roll all over my bed like i love, must sleep on my back, and can’t use as much water as i always do, which all always result in visibly better skin

    2. use more natural / nature-based skincare — i’ve been looking at these more after the march earthquake in japan; i’m in the process of moving away from japanese products due to radiation concerns

    3. stop picking at my cuticles — bad habit!

    4. remember to use my body lotions / creams — i ALWAYS forget!

    5. stop coloring my hair — my stylist may disagree strongly, so this is perhaps the most precarious of all my resolutions

  51. Issa says:

I hope I’ll be able to do my makeup faster. And I hope to use a liquid eyeliner properly… ? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ?

  52. CT says:

My resolution is to have more beauty sleep, to be able to sleep by 10.30 pm. Sleep its better than any beauty products which you may have.

  53. sza says:

I will include detox in my resolutions next year.. Thanx sesame… ?

  54. sesame says:

Interesting reason why you’re looking into natural-based skincare! It’s not something I’ve actually thought about as my immediate concern was the food. I would want to stop coloring my hair if I can but it’s just not possible! And eyelash extensions are beautiful when worn but totally a hassle for me. Worse when one has a habit of rubbing her eyes!

  55. sesame says:

That’s cool…I have mine done in 5 mins cos mine is simple. Merry X’mas and a Happy New Year to you too! ?

  56. sesame says:

Yes sleep is important! I go for S+S+S these days – sleep + sunscreen + supplement. ?

  57. sesame says:

Hope it’ll work out well for you!

  58. Viv. A says:

Unfortunately I don’t know any brand of natural/organic makeup that manufactures eyeliners (pencil, liquid, cream, etc). It would be nice if some of the readers know some they can recommend.
I don’t really use organic or natural makeup because they are not available in my country, so I guess my new resolution will be a little harder to achieve!

  59. blueroses says:

my 2012 resolution is to take better care of skin through diet and supplement (and stop wasting money on over-the-counter skincare which doesn’t work).

A big thank you to your blog (which I came across while doing online research), I took the 7-day Kordel detox-cleanse, started on heliocare capsules, drank wheatgrass (alkaline food!) and went to see TCM doctor for my skin. Bought my first organic skincare (from Akin – the sandalwood one) and am keeping my fingers crossed! I also started drinking fancl tense-up (not sure if this works yet – but I’m that desperate) and prune juice.

Hope you will share more about supplements and recommendations! Can I just say your blog is a must-read for me now! ?

  60. Swati says:

I always make resolutions and break them but I though for 2011 that I would take good care of my hair and I did do that more or less so that was successful on a small scale….like you, even I want to dabble in more of DIY in the next year!!! hopefully, I stick to it and yup, another resolution is not to go on spending money in stocking products but to finish the products sitting on my shelf first ?

  61. Diane says:

my resolution is to eat healthier and drink less to improve my skin…i’ve also started to wear eye make up and want to be very careful that it doesn’t make my skin worse – so i’ll do more eye masks.. ?

  62. Kim says:

Currently am using Dermorganics Facial Moisturiser SPF15. Am ok-ish, except the hydration bit. I tried the Dosha Care Sakala Sunscreen SPF28 and totally loved it! My skin felt so soft after using it. Unfortunately the zinc oxide is only 3% – not sufficient for protection right?
I’m keen to try the MVO sunscreen after reading yr raving reviews, but unfortunately shipping charges puts me off trying their products, plus my skin is quite sensitive (I did an allergy patch test recently and found that allergic to some of chemical-free skincare, like Stemorganics facial oil) so am afraid I may develop a reaction to it too.
Also thinking it may be my cleanser problem – not clean again. But again, owing to my allergy problem, have decided to just use Cetaphil as prescribed by specialist. Hence am trying to stabilise my skin again before attempting new products.

  63. sesame says:

3% is low but it might have other ingredients…googled it and found it contains Octinoxate 7.5%, Octocrylene 7.0%, Octisalate 5.0% apart from the 3% Zinc. So it’s a combination of chemical and mineral filters.

  64. sesame says:

It shouldn’t make your skin worse as long as you cleanse your eye area well and try not to pull the skin around it when applying or cleansing.

  65. sesame says:

Good resolution not to spend unnecessary in stocking products! There’s always a tendency to overstock…especially bath and body range.

  66. sesame says:

Haha…stop wasting money is a good resolution. Well, some over-the-counter skincare are okay but some of them are well, not suitable for all. I would think diet is more important – 60% to me. But you’re doing a lot of things at once…wow! Fancl tense-up gets very good reviews from what I’ve read but again, think it’s for skin firming?

Thanks for coming by my blog…drop by frequently. I try to blog at least 6 times a week…except during festive periods. ?

  67. sesame says:

Ya, we also have very limited range here…need to buy online.

  68. Jasmine says:

Sesame – a tip for you – for liquid eyeliners, get one with a very fine tip and when lining, try to fill in the gaps between lashes and do a very fine line right at the edge of the lashes. For ladies with double eyelids that aren’t very defined, this helps sharpen and frame the iris. No Amy Winehouse here – that’ll make our eyelid disappear!

One of my beauty resolutions is to achieve a plumper and more lucid skin … fade my acne scars … refine my skin tone and start identifying a line or type of skincare to focus my interest and funds on instead of experimenting too wildly.

  69. sesame says:

Thanks Jasmine for the tip on eyeliner. I will probably need some practice to get the lining right. ?

As for skincare, I hope you’ll find something that works for you…

  70. Carl Ruiz says:

My resolution would be to stick to natural products as much as possible. ? It’s not only cheap, but also it’s really good restoring the natural flora of our skin, making it healthy and radiant. My fave ingredients that I use for my face are oatmeal, green tea, and extra virgin olive oil. Cheers!

    Carl, male, 20, filipino. ?

  71. Amanda says:

I do have some wishes (e.g. learn makeup, switch to natural makeup, take on healthy eating habits, use more natural skincare products, etc) in 2012, but they are not resolutions of any kind. Rather, I want it to be a lifestyle that I will take on next year.

By the way, I’m looking forward to your experiment posts. Your posts are always so inspiring!

  72. sesame says:

Oh those are very lovely ingredients you use! My favorite is oatmeal at the moment.

  73. sesame says:

Hope you’ll have a lifestyle of your desire in 2012! And haha…yes, I hope I can get round to trying them out successfully. I tried making deodorants without much success so I was a bit turned off.

  74. Chelsea says:

Braid my hair more often. It only takes a couple of minutes and it looks so much better than doing NOTHING, which is more my signature style, haha.

Round out my rear-end more (I’ve been doing the Brazil Butt Lift exercises for two months, and so far they really do WORK! My husband told me that I’m turning him into a “butt man” haha). The hardest part is finding time with two small children. Hmm… maybe finding more time for myself should be another resolution? That could be beauty-related, right? hehe.

  75. sesame says:

That’s the thing about long hair…you have so many choices to style them! I like braided hair…there’s something very charming about it. Oh I like your “butt” resolution; it’s something I want to achieve but can’t get moving.

Definitely finding time for yourself is also helping you de-stress and that’s beauty inside out! Children can be demanding at times but enjoy them, and enjoy yourself…have tea, read, exercise…those will give you some quality “me-time”. ?

  76. RedScorpio says:

Although I never set New Year resolutions per se (if you don’t set them, what’s the harm in not achieving them ? ), my beauty/health goals for next year are:
    a) eat better, exercise more, lose weight
    b) sleep 7-8 hours every day
    c) increase my use of natural/organic products
If I improve on these areas, I know it will definitely make an overall difference in my mood too, so it’s a double-win. ?

  77. Nika says:

I would like to control my shopping mania and spend less money on skin care products.
Also, to improve my DIY, homemade beauty skills.
To get rid of seborrhea and heal my extremely sensitive skin.
    To lose weight finally.
And to find more time for myself.

  78. Sara says:

I believe that health translate to beauty. Next year, I aim to:

    1. Exercise daily for at least 20 minutes (yoga/swim)
    2. Not skip breakfast & learn to cook healthier food/soups/drinks
    3. Get enough sleep (at least 7 hours)

I’ve started doing them. I feel so much more energized and my skin glow!

  79. Carl Ruiz says:

    Oatmeal’s the best! ?

  80. claire says:

? don’t worry! I have tons in KL waiting for me. and I’ll get it soon! it’s having an super long cure time of at least 3 months which is really awesome. I’m probably the only one in the family who has a soap bar fetish. everyone else loves liquid soap.

  81. sesame says:

Your goals sound like it’s something within reach! All the best! ?

  82. sesame says:

Hope you’ll achieve all of them! Haha…controlling shopping mania you can do after this holiday season. ?

  83. sesame says:

Wow, I salute you for wanting to exercise daily! It’s something I refuse to even think about!

  84. Jyoan says:

My beauty resolutions for 2012 are:
    1. Get back to moderate BMI. I have gained a lot of weight from Hari Raya cookies. =( This can be done by getting back my daily 40 min workout routine. It was neglected due to heavy work commitment.
    2. Drink more water. I really tried consciously to hit 8 glasses a day, and I can see the effects of water. For years, I only do 6 glasses a day.
    3. Use more makeup without tiring out my skin because I have too much and use not even once a month.

  85. sesame says:

I think with water, you can keep to what you need. I’ve never measured if I take 8 glasses…I just sip and drink whenever I need.

  86. Sara says:

I didn’t like to exercise too then. I think the trick is to look for something I really enjoy. Once I like it, its not a chore anymore. I’m lucky I found yoga. It makes me contort my body into weird shapes and make me go upside down, its really fun!

  87. sesame says:

I was doing yoga at one stage and even then, I had to drag myself to the place. I’m just…lazy with exercise. I have a trampoline at home that I’m supposed to jump on but even then, I haven’t been bouncing on it for awhile and the trampoline is just…collecting dust. ?

  88. Miss Vinny says:

Lose weight until I’m like 55kg. Slowly increase my exercise regime until minimum 300 mins per week, drink tons of water and so on. Must improve my diet and eat from nearly all vitamin groups instead of buying 3 to 4 types of fruits and veggies with the same vitamins.

Improve my skin condition and not waste money. Always get raw ingredients(hydrosols, clays, etc.) from places like GOW instead of splurging on “branded” skincare ‘cos often, it’s just the same ingredient but with prettier and sexier packaging, with certain dilution of contents to squeeze more money. Only opt for the more expensive options if the packaging is actually much better than the raw ingredients’ packaging. Always buy a product which is multi-functional and simple(for my sensitive skin) instead of some product that does barely nothing and which forces you to use even more items and waste your money.

  89. sesame says:

Yeah, I am for your resolution about purchasing raw ingredients cos it’s something I also want to do. Really excited about it. Actually I hope to eat better too but I’m already doing that so I won’t put it down as a resoluton. ?

Eat healthier and lose more weight. I do work out a lot. But I pig out more ?
Moderate my alcohol consumption and keep up with my Tanaka Face massage regime.

I have quite a few – but my main things are creating a sticking to a strict hair regimen and to try the oil cleansing method for my face. I too would like to do more DIY when it pertains to beauty products ?

  92. Brownies says:

I agree, now I am trying to stick checking of things and TV to the start and the end of the day ;). I am trying to eat more rice and reduce stress this holiday. It helps but I know that once the work stress is back, I will slim down again ?

I am keeping an exercising routine, but I guess the hectic work schedule might deter, but not stop me from exercising. Will promise myself at least 3-4 hours of exercise a week.

  93. sesame says:

Moderating alcohol consumption would be good. For the Tanaka massage, I found it most convenient to perform when I wash my face…that’s how I can do up to twice a day. But I used a modified version, not the full version.

  94. sesame says:

That’s good…the oil cleansing method you can try but I personally don’t find it’s that good for skin because of the hot water used. I think you should use it moderately.

  95. sesame says:

I’m glad that you’re not going to let your hectic work schedule keep you from exercising. That’s the attitude for the brand new year! ?

When you work, you can indulge in some small, healthy snacks. That way, you might be able to maintain an ideal weight?

  96. Nat says:

Yes, 3am is the usual. I get the most work done when nobody interrupts. And that’s after mifnight. I get up aually at about 9am. This type of schedule definitely takes toll on my body. But I do get to sleep in on weekends ?

  97. sesame says:

That’s good to know…at least you get to rest during the weekends and that’ll help your body recuperate.

  98. zhing says:

im definitely going to aim to remember to use my eye cream! signs of old age is showing! *panic!* ?

i love your new year resolution! means more for us to read about! ? xx

  99. sesame says:

Ah…eye creams! I’ve gone from scant to a deluge with a few brands to try recently. Don’t panic…you still have time! ?

  100. Kim says:

Hmm…chemical filters are not preferable, but then, my temperamental skin did agree to it. So am thinking of giving it a go.
    Thanks!
