Scarves that double up as necklaces & lariats

pashima cotton scarves Scarves that double up as necklaces & lariats

I love scarves and these from Turkey caught my eyes with their unique designs. They’re called pashmina scarves at the online store but looking at the price and the description, they appear to be really just cotton scarves. Still, I love the versatility because they can double up as necklaces or lariats with their interesting edges. And there are plenty of designs and colors to choose from – many of them are marked as handmade too.

The online store, dubbed Fatwoman & Anils, is currently having a sale and some of the scarves are going for as low as US$9.90. Actually, I almost clicked “add to cart” until I saw the shipping charges. If you’re located in US, you might find the US$6 shipping charges more reasonable; I find it hard to justify paying US$8 just to have a piece of scarf shipped to me. So for now, they go into my favorite folder and my Pinterest board.

  1. Lovely scarves! I had a nosy through her Etsy store and agree that they’re cotton or acrylic or some other fabric. Definitely not pashmina.

The prices are somewhat high for the ones I liked and shipping isn’t worth it, as you rightly pointed out.

Yeah, a pity about the shipping. I don’t mind paying that kind of shipping for apparel but for a scarf, I can’t bring myself to do it. Otherwise, I thought some of the prices were quite reasonable for the designs. And haha…if they’re really pashminas, I will just grab inspite of the shipping fees.

  2. I love scarves too. Browsing the site now. :p

hehehe~ you’d probably be a really good friend with my mom, who is just hopelessly obessessd with scarves!!! She’s already got tons and still wanted to buy more!!! Sometimes I just had to ask her “For crying out loud Mom, how many necks do you actually have?!?!”

Hahaha…that’s funny but scarves are great. I think they’re especially useful when you’re in a hurry and need accessorizing. I don’t have that many scarves but perhaps I’ll do a post in future on how I wear some of them. :)
