Share: is there one beauty tool you use regularly?

I love beauty tools and gadgets but aside from my hair dryer, brow tweezer, and epilator that I use regularly, I’m really quite lazy to use anything more. While I may start out using a particular tool with enthusiasm but the interest usually fizzles out pretty quickly too. However, I’ve really surprised myself by using one tool daily for the past six months now! Seriously, I want to kowtow to myself for the feat!!! And what tool am I talking about?

It’s the ReFa Pro Platimum Electronic Roller I reviewed last October! I’m a facial massage kind of gal and so yeah, this tool really meets my needs. The other reason why I like it is because it’s easy to use and it only takes up about 5 minutes of my time. I still do a daily facial massage with my bare hands when I wash my face but I actually use the Refa roller every morning, even during the days when I have to wake up as early as 4:30am! Although I have to say that I’m not all that certain how much it has improved my facial contour but I’m really impressed with my persistence!

The other beauty gadget that I’ve started using again is the Hermippe Wrinkle Care Massager, after resting it almost as soon as I completed the review last April.  The reason why I stopped using it was because I was lazy to get new batteries and the reason why I’m using it is because I’ve just got the batteries.  Okay, that’s a bit of a tease there but the real reason is because I find this gadget rather time consuming to use and I’m not too sure if it does anything more than what my fingers can do.  But I’m taking it for a spin again just to see if it’ll make my eye care products work a little harder.

So ladies, is there one beauty tool that you use regularly and if there is, what is it? And oh, I hope you all notice one tool featured in my pictures isn’t exactly made for beauty. (~_^)

  1. hmmm, the vernier calipers? why in the world would one need that?? so curious.

Not sure if this has anything to do with beauty or not, but I use a tongue cleaner and ear digger roughly about alternate days. I realize that many people I know neither clean their tongues (which leads to bad, I mean really bad breath) nor dig their ears (which leads to them being hard of hearing).

On top of this two most regular little tools, I have hair dryer and epilator too. I am too scared to tweeze my own tiny hairs, so I get brows done at facial.

  2. it has to be the tweezer! not the kind u use for hair but the kind tht u use to pick out little blackheads :P it’s bad but love the satisfaction it brings!

  3. The blackhead extractor! Haha! I use it more than any other beauty tool I have ’cause I’ve got OCD and I can’t stand even a single blackhead on my face whenever my OCD attacks. :( Aside from using it on my face, I use the pointed end to prick some capsules I apply on my face.

I use Talika Duo but not too often recently since I’ve been too busy and would usually rush through my routine.

  4. The one gadget I use everyday and have been for the past 2 years is the Clarisonic’s Sonic Skin Care System. It’s amazing and worth every penny! I recommend it to anyone who will listen! LOL

  5. now that you have asked.. i feel like the odd one out.. I havent been using any? However, recently a friend of mine demo’ed the Nu Skin Galvanic spa to me.. I like the results.. but I do not know the ingredients of the serum they used and whether this gadget will have other side effects whether in the mid or long term..

anyone else who have had experience with the Nu Skin Galvanic spa?

    • It’s okay not to use any tools but never came across the spa you mentioned. I just met an ex-colleague dealing with Nu Skin…maybe I’ll ask her.

    • I’ve heard of the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa and ageLOC, and I know there are a lot of testimonies that say the results are very impressive. But frankly, because the products are so d__n expensive, I think it’s a semi-con job!! I mean, I really don’t see how one can justify spending that kind of money on that gadget and the products; there are a lot of other GOOD products out there that cost only a fraction of it, and if one REALLY can’t find anything that works for her, maybe the best thing to do is just to accept ageing gracefully :-)
The only gadget that I use regularly — but not even every day — is the eyebrow tweezer, LOL!

      • pollya, I have the same opinion about the Galvanic spa and ageloc.. its $650 sgd for the tool (branded as Galvanic spa) and the ageloc serums will cost around 60 sgd per month (if you just use it for the face)… apparently you can also use it for your neck, arms and even tummy..

but still am not sold into buying it.. for the same reasons.. I dont mind having a not so perfect skin.. as long as I dont get long term side effects from products whose ingredients I do not know about.

  6. My most used beauty tool has to be my tweezerman tweezer that I use almost every other day. I look out for stray hair on my brows daily and also use it to remove tiny white hair that I have that are sticking out from my scalp. The beauty tool that I’ve had for the longest time though, is my epilator which I use once a month.

  7. Up until recently, I regularly used a Neutrogena microdermabrasion system (I need a new massager part), which left the skin wonderfully smooth and ready for the best anti-aging creams to work their magic.

I’m a big believer in dermabrasion/peeling as an anti-aging method, because I have had CO2 Laser skin peeling done, and it is a super treatment in terms of anti-aging (my skin type is white European, I don’t know if Asian skin type is suitable for laser resurfacing treatments).

    • I don’t believe I’ve seen the product around…or maybe I just don’t check out the brand. Microdermabrasion is okay once in a while but not suitable for sensitive skin…it’s got more to do with skin type so won’t really benefit those with thin, sensitive skin to do often.

  8. Tweezers for brow plucking. Nail clippers for the obvious. Pink Wilkinson razor for armpits shaving. Large natural-bristle brush for dry body brushing (when I remember it!). And during summer, a special file for smoothing feet heels. Anything else I am too lazy/forgetful to regularly use!!

  9. 1. Tweezers for brows. This is actually the first thing I use when I approach the mirror in the morning.
    2. Clarisonic brush (bye-bye whiteheads!).
    3. Rowenta Brush Activ hairstyler – it does wonders with my hair, cannot imagine my life without it anymore. Also, my hair looks and feels so much healthier.

  10. I have a scalp massager and I am too lazy to use even that!!!
