hmmm, the vernier calipers? why in the world would one need that?? so curious.

Not sure if this has anything to do with beauty or not, but I use a tongue cleaner and ear digger roughly about alternate days. I realize that many people I know neither clean their tongues (which leads to bad, I mean really bad breath) nor dig their ears (which leads to them being hard of hearing).

On top of this two most regular little tools, I have hair dryer and epilator too. I am too scared to tweeze my own tiny hairs, so I get brows done at facial.

oh, and also nail clippers, nail filer, cuticle picker… haha. I never knew I am using so many things.

Maybe the vernier calipers is for measuring eyebrows. ? Just guessing.

There’s a specialized tongue cleaner?? Didn’t know that, but I certainly clean my tongue with the back of my brush ? Some of the toothbrushes have now added a small special spatula at the back of the brush just to make things easier ? As for my ears I just use cotton buds daily to cleanse them, not really using an ear digger as I came across a piece of information a while ago saying it may have a adverse effect by pushing the earwax further into the ear :S

  5. xin says:

it has to be the tweezer! not the kind u use for hair but the kind tht u use to pick out little blackheads ? it’s bad but love the satisfaction it brings!

  6. EcoBeauty says:

The blackhead extractor! Haha! I use it more than any other beauty tool I have ’cause I’ve got OCD and I can’t stand even a single blackhead on my face whenever my OCD attacks. ? Aside from using it on my face, I use the pointed end to prick some capsules I apply on my face.

I use Talika Duo but not too often recently since I’ve been too busy and would usually rush through my routine.

The one gadget I use everyday and have been for the past 2 years is the Clarisonic’s Sonic Skin Care System. It’s amazing and worth every penny! I recommend it to anyone who will listen! LOL

  8. Cassie says:

:O! I have been looking for a blackhead extractor! Where can I find one? I always use my nails but I don’t think that’s very nice on my skin. :S

  9. EcoBeauty says:

You can find it at Watsons or SASA ? I love using my nails but for some really deep blackheads, I turn to the metal tool. ?

  10. Cassie says:

Okay I just realized I’m a noobie. I’ve seen that metal thing so many times before but just didn’t know what it was for! ~_~

now that you have asked.. i feel like the odd one out.. I havent been using any? However, recently a friend of mine demo’ed the Nu Skin Galvanic spa to me.. I like the results.. but I do not know the ingredients of the serum they used and whether this gadget will have other side effects whether in the mid or long term..

anyone else who have had experience with the Nu Skin Galvanic spa?

  12. Jyoan says:

oh yes, there is. haha. I even just bought a weird shape one that’s from Korea or Japan on something, from a beauty shop. But the normal one is just a long strip of plastic or metal.
Jyoan last post is: Nail Tek Foundation III Review

  13. Jyoan says:

oh, NO. that’s too scary for me to on my own. I would shiver and get dizzy when I start doing weird things, like tweezing my brows even. Not to mention tweeze blackheads. I just give up, cos by then, I would feel like fainting so bad. How come there seem to be so many girls who can do this!

  14. Lanie says:

xin, i love small tweezers too for removing those irritating blackheads.. I thought I was the only one doing this.. my parents usually give me an odd look whenever I pluck my (no not eyebrows) but my blackheads ?

  15. Mee says:

A tweezer for blackheads? It douns brilliant xD But I have never seen anything like this here in Germany ? What does that tweezer look like and where can I buy it??

  16. Sesame says:

Jyoam: LOL. That was included for fun because I saw it on my son’s table.

Oh, I use a tongue scraper too but I don’t use a ear digger. You’re afraid of tweezing your own hair? Why? I do it all the time cos the tiny hair grow too quickly.

  17. Sesame says:

Haha…it’s an idea to consider. Can also use it to scratch my back. ?

  18. Sesame says:

Carrie, it’s a tongue scraper that is either made of plastic of metal. I’ve tried using the back of the toothbrush but find it’s not as effectively as a scaper.

  19. Sesame says:

Oh yeah, I know a lot of people rave about that one. Glad it’s been working well for you.

  20. Sesame says:

It’s okay not to use any tools but never came across the spa you mentioned. I just met an ex-colleague dealing with Nu Skin…maybe I’ll ask her.

  21. Sesame says:

Xin: is it one with a round head that is hollow in the centre? Think I’ve got that one but never really used it.

  22. Pollya says:

I’ve heard of the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa and ageLOC, and I know there are a lot of testimonies that say the results are very impressive. But frankly, because the products are so d__n expensive, I think it’s a semi-con job!! I mean, I really don’t see how one can justify spending that kind of money on that gadget and the products; there are a lot of other GOOD products out there that cost only a fraction of it, and if one REALLY can’t find anything that works for her, maybe the best thing to do is just to accept ageing gracefully ?
The only gadget that I use regularly — but not even every day — is the eyebrow tweezer, LOL!

  23. hazel says:

My most used beauty tool has to be my tweezerman tweezer that I use almost every other day. I look out for stray hair on my brows daily and also use it to remove tiny white hair that I have that are sticking out from my scalp. The beauty tool that I’ve had for the longest time though, is my epilator which I use once a month.

  24. Lanie says:

mee, the tweezer am using is the normal tweezer used to pluck eyebrows, but the tip is smaller and rounder.. so it can pick up the blackheads that are already sticking out..

  25. Lanie says:

pollya, I have the same opinion about the Galvanic spa and ageloc.. its $650 sgd for the tool (branded as Galvanic spa) and the ageloc serums will cost around 60 sgd per month (if you just use it for the face)… apparently you can also use it for your neck, arms and even tummy..

but still am not sold into buying it.. for the same reasons.. I dont mind having a not so perfect skin.. as long as I dont get long term side effects from products whose ingredients I do not know about.

  26. HKLights says:

Up until recently, I regularly used a Neutrogena microdermabrasion system (I need a new massager part), which left the skin wonderfully smooth and ready for the best anti-aging creams to work their magic.

I’m a big believer in dermabrasion/peeling as an anti-aging method, because I have had CO2 Laser skin peeling done, and it is a super treatment in terms of anti-aging (my skin type is white European, I don’t know if Asian skin type is suitable for laser resurfacing treatments).

  27. RedScorpio says:

Tweezers for brow plucking. Nail clippers for the obvious. Pink Wilkinson razor for armpits shaving. Large natural-bristle brush for dry body brushing (when I remember it!). And during summer, a special file for smoothing feet heels. Anything else I am too lazy/forgetful to regularly use!!

  28. Oxana says:

    1. Tweezers for brows. This is actually the first thing I use when I approach the mirror in the morning.
    2. Clarisonic brush (bye-bye whiteheads!).
    3. Rowenta Brush Activ hairstyler – it does wonders with my hair, cannot imagine my life without it anymore. Also, my hair looks and feels so much healthier.

  29. Swati says:

I have a scalp massager and I am too lazy to use even that!!!

  30. Mee says:

Lanie, thx for your answer ? Ok, I have a normal tweezer for eyebrows at home… Maybe I’ll use it when I see a blackhead on my nose…hehe~

  31. Sesame says:

Wow, once a month for your epilator? That’s really good. One week is considered good by my standard.

  32. Sesame says:

I don’t believe I’ve seen the product around…or maybe I just don’t check out the brand. Microdermabrasion is okay once in a while but not suitable for sensitive skin…it’s got more to do with skin type so won’t really benefit those with thin, sensitive skin to do often.

  33. Sesame says:

That’s pretty good…dry brushing is interesting! I got the brush but never got started on the brushing!

  34. Sesame says:

Oh your no. 3 is getting my interest! I’ll go and check that out. ?

  35. Sesame says:

Haha…I was like that. I get gadgets and was lazy to use them, even if they’re so easy to use.

  36. liyan says:

i noticed that using the tongue scraper helps reduce bad breath in the morning when i wake up!

  37. Socialite Dreams says:

    Oh that’s a fave with many I guess. ?

  39. missy says:

I use a drTungs tongue cleaner, tweezers and wooden sticks for cuticles…an a lot of other tools. I didn’t notice that I use a lot of them ?

  40. Sesame says:

Cotton sticks on cuticles? To push them in right? I use a metal one for that.
