Naturally Fun Crazy Rumors Lip Balm & Lip Color

All ladies love to stock their bags with lip balms before heading out and I’m sure most of you have more than one lip balm in your collection. Lip balms are sort of like a one-size-fit-all product that are great for moisturizing your lips to keep them from chapping. And lip balms like these from Crazy Rumor made from natural ingredients with delish flavors – they definitely make perfect handbag stuffers!

Crazy Rumors’ Story
Crazy Rumors was founded by couple Edie and Brian Himmel from South Georgia when they realized that most lip balms out there have boring standardized flavors while those that were not were packed with loads of synthetic artificial flavorings and colours. After failing to find the perfect lip balm with an interesting edge that is fun and safe, they decided to start their own brand that uses natural and certified organic ingredients that are cruelty-free.

Comes in a handy twist-up packaging
The products come in a standard twist-up packing with a mini cap. Even though the packaging is nothing new and quite normal, I love lip balms that are packaged this way because of the convenience. It can be applied while you are walking or outside and anywhere, anytime because of its foolproof application method just simply by opening its cap, twisting it up and apply! I think it deserves the credit of not trying to be too unique by following a standard lip balm packaging that is easy to apply and works, especially since the company is one with a trademark of manufacturing interesting flavored lip balms.

Crazy Rumors Brew, Peppermint Lemongrass Lip Balm

Ingredients: Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Certified Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Certified Organic Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Soy Wax, Natural & Organic Flavors and/or Pure Essential Oils, Vitamin E, Certified Organic Carnauba Wax, Natural Stevia
Ingredients

This lip balm had a very strong lemongrass smell when I received it before opening but after some time of usage, the strong scent didn’t linger anymore, although I was hoping it did so it can freshen up the smell of my bag whenever I put it inside. When applied, it goes on clear and feels moisturizing even though it isn’t sticky, and there is a cooling peppermint sensation on my lips that lasted quite some while.

I was a little surprised by the cooling sensation on my lips after applying to be honest. It felt like there was a little fan constantly blowing on my lips. It’s an interesting feeling but I just needed some time to get used to it. I could also easily catch the smell of the lip balm the whole time I had it on and I needed some getting used to as well as peppermint flavored is quite new for me. One thing good that came out of the cooling sensation from the peppermint was that the moment that cooling sensation stopped, I knew it was time to reapply the lip balm again. The lip balm didn’t last very long, probably an hour after applying but I would imagine reapplying being a fun affair if you chose flavors that you like! So in this case, it’s not a bad thing at all!

Crazy Rumors Hibiskiss, Flavored Lip Colour in Pearl

Ingredients: Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Certified Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Certified Organic Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Soy Wax, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Natural & Organic Flavors and/or Pure Essential Oils, Vitamin E, Certified Organic Carnauba Wax, Natural Stevia.
Ingredients

This lip colour comes in the same packaging as the lip balm in a solid stick form. When applied, it goes on shiny with a little pale pinkish tone to it. It doesn’t dry out the lips and looks quite natural but still provide enough shine to make you look a little made up. It smells of berries but is light upon application and you won’t really know you have it on. It lasted also about an hour on my lips after applying, just like the lip balm. If I were to apply both this and the lip balm on blindfolded, I couldn’t have differentiated one was a lip color, given that both feels moisturizing and the lip color is not the least bit drying or gritty.

Price and availability
The lip balm and lip colour I received were complimentary from Poppibleu, an online store based in Singapore that sells natural and organic products. The lip balm costs S$6.30 and the lip color S$8.20, both not including shipping price.  Anyway, you can get it cheaper for now because the online store has extended a special promo code for 15% to Viva Woman readers. Just enter viva01 during checkout and the code is good till 22nd July. Oh, the store offers international shipping outside of Singapore too.

Overview
On the whole, I find the idea of having many interesting flavored lip balms really fun, and the additional plus point is that these lip balms and lip colours help to keep my lips moisturized. So given the affordable and reasonable prices, I wouldn’t mind purchasing these on my own.

I have the Hibiskiss in Pearl, ordered off iHerb ? and used to have the Lip Balm in Chai flavour. Both are ok, pleasant to use, but no wow factor. Decently priced.
