Free worldwide express delivery from Shopbop

I ordered a bag from Shopbop at the end of Tuesday and received the item on Friday noon, from US. Nothing really surprising, considering it used a courier service but the speed and efficiency really put some of our local online stores that advertises heavily but takes five days to deliver items to shame. Seriously, these local online stores should learn how to improve their delivery lead-time.

But anyway, I am so pleased with my purchase this round. I scored a bag this time with a complimentary gift certificate from Shopbop and I managed to snap it up just a day before their Friends & Family event. I’m also glad that the item arrived so quickly, at no shipping charges because the online store offers free worldwide express delivery for purchases above US$100. And given the price range at Shopbop, it would be difficult not to buy above that amount.

The good thing is that Shopbop offers sale almost all the time and some of the items are really worth checking out when they’re discounted. If you want to avoid paying GST, then it’s best to order under S$400 or break into two different shipments if you’re ordering a few items.

I understand that Shopbop has a no fuss return policy but I haven’t given it a look considering I’m not planning to return anything. I mean, why bother to look through those details unless I need it? But one thing I do know is, return shipping isn’t free and so, you really only want to use it when you absolutely need to.

Oh, my kinda smallish tote bag arrived in a rather huge box because I ordered a gift box and it turned out to be quite bulky. It’s a nice box at US$5. Kinda of a waste of money but yeah, I was curious and I wanted to round up the number. But I do wonder what kind of gift box would have turned up if I had ordered a watch or some smallish accessory.

So this is my new Hazelnut Marc by Marc Jacobs Preppy Nylon Dakota Bag. I had originally wanted to order the La Mer watch too but I changed my mind. Perhaps another time because this is a bag season for me. So everything else is kinda secondary.

I honestly don’t und why some local deliveries take 5 days. I bought a shoes organizer from one of those deals, but they have no email add for me too enquire! So i have no idea how to redeem ? hope it’s not a scam.

Btw, your bag looks like it has a ton of pockets and light weight

I adore Shopbop! I’ve been buying from them since earlier this year and yeah, what attracted me was the free shipping… I’m a huge online shopper and sometimes my shipping fee is more than my order! Crazy.

I tried to return two things once, was very smooth. I went to a DHL place with the return form (print it out in your Shopbop Account), signed, and they said thank you and took it. Logging into my account a few days later, I saw that I got refunded and I actually don’t even remember paying the $35 return fee… :S

Love shopping Shopbop too! I bought first back when shipping wasn’t free but now that it is, its even better. Plus they now allow you to add on the estimated tax (we get taxed for certain items here e.g. clothes/leather goods) so it arrives to my doorstep fuss free ?

And the best part is, we’re not half as big as US!

Yeah, the bag is lightweight…very functional!

  5. Sesame says:

Oh good for you that you didn’t have to pay the return fee! I shopped there before int’l shipping but it was more costly then so I stayed away.

  6. Sesame says:

Yeah, free is good. I totally missed their free shipping cos I stayed away for awhile from Shopbop. Love their efficiency.

    Dear Sesame

Thank you for reviewing on Shopbop! I actually need some advice. Which delivery type would you recommend if I were to shop on Shopbop? As I understand that Express services may incur some import costs? Should I deliver through normal postal delivery? I see that you have mentioned DHL, how do I go about doing that? Cheers!

  10. Sesame says:

If you order above US$100, you can ship via DHL or UPS for free. Just select the first option on the shipping option. Import duties only applies if the cost is above a certain value. If you’re in Singapore, the amount is S$400 and above.

  11. FH says:

Hi, May I know, based on your experiences, could you advise around how many days would the package take to reach Singapore using the FREE Express Delivery method (since purchase is above $100)? Thanks in Advance!

  12. Sesame says:

Usually in 3 days but it could be 5 days during peak seasons. I find smaller packages ship faster. They will supply a tracking number.

  13. Stella says:

    hi!
    will the parcels be lost?

  14. Sesame says:

No. They dispatch via DHL or UPS and they provide a tracking number. Btw, it’s free for shipment above US$100.

Hi! I am actually going to purchase a watch from shopbop but i am scared i will be scammed again because i got scammed once from an online shop. Therefore, i am quite weary to shop online now.

  16. Sesame says:

I see. Well, shop only if you’re comfortable. Shopbop is safe…I’ve shopped there like for a year or more.
