Living Nature Foundation In Pure Sand Review

I’ve been eyeing this product like forever but I wasn’t ready to try it till recently. However, the product is no longer available locally and so I looked it up online, took a risk and ordered the foundation in Pure Sand. But what do you know? The shot in the dark turned out so precise because it is a perfect match for my skin tone! YAY!

BDIH certified
For those who haven’t come across Living Nature, you’ll be happy to know that the New Zealand brand has been in the market for over 23 years and the brand is certified natural by BDIH Germany – a world-leading independent auditor of natural skincare and cosmetics. Their products are made without endocrine disrupting synthetic preservatives such as parabens, ethelhexyglycerin, hydroxymethylglycinate, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, methylchloroisothia-zolinone, methylisothiazolinone, unigerm, suttocide, as well as no neurotoxic preservatives like phenoxyethanol. They also do not include harsh surfactants like sodium, ammonium and lauryl/laureth sulphates or petrochemicals, including PEGs, paraffin and other glycols, silicones, mineral oils, artificial fragrances, grain alcohols, phthalates, bisphenol-A (BPA) or GMO ingredients.

Ingredients INCI
Aqua (water), Titanium dioxide (CI 77891), Sodium PCA, Jojoba esters, Glycerin (vegetable glycerin), Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil**, Mica (Cl 77019), Zinc oxide (CI 77947), Macadamia ternifolia seed oil (macadamia oil), Cetearyl wheatstraw glycosides (&) cetearyl alcohol (wheat straw extract), Persea gratissima oil (avocado oil), Iron oxides (Cl 77491, Cl 77492, Cl 77499), Talc (CI 77718), Citrus grandis seed extract (grapefruit seed extract), Stearic acid, Cetyl alcohol, Sclerotium gum, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Leptospermum scoparium oil (manuka oil), Melaleuca alternifolia oil (tea tree oil). **Certified organic.

Coverage
This foundation provides medium coverage with a yellow base tone. The finishing is natural and leaves my skin with a dewy glow. It’s not heavy and doesn’t streak and I quite like how it feels on my skin. However, I find the foundation leaves my skin a tad drying under aircon environment. In addition, it’s not great for concealing dark circles and blemishes though so I’ve to use a separate concealer with this foundation – something I don’t always need to with other non-natural foundations.

Price and availability
The Living Nature Foundation is available in six shades. I got mine for around S$33 from Naturisimo with free shipping. I’m quite happy with it for now and will continue to use it. However, I’ll be looking around for other more naturally formulated foundations and see if I can find a better one in the market soon.

Keep looking for natural is good I think..definately some man made products are better than some natural ones and vice versa but as a generalization natural wins out cause if you can find a good one it integrates into your skin better cause your skins enzymes can break it down.

  3. Marla says:

That was a perfect match! I’m never so lucky when I’m ordering online.

  4. Sesame says:

They’re better known for their skincare range.

  5. Sesame says:

I think when it comes to makeup, those in the natural category still can’t match up in terms of performance but they’re more skin friendly with the less toxic ingredients.

  6. Sesame says:

Yeah, it’s a bit of a hit or miss with shades when you order online.

  7. AL says:

If you compared Living Nature Foundation with Marie Veronique Everday Sheer Coverage, which one is harder to apply and drier?

Hi! I was reading thru ur review on botani, would like to chk with you if they r available in SG. Thanks!

  9. Annie says:

yay @ natural and wholesome make-up. The ingredient list look like a straight a student, but i really wonder how they preserve the products. I would love to try out this product.

  10. Sesame says:

They can’t be compared cos they’re formulated very differently. LN foundation is really like a foundation and applies easily. MV ESC is more like a moisturizer…their new formulation is not difficult to apply.

  11. Sesame says:

    Yes, it’s available at http://www.itsnaturalsg.com/.

  12. Sesame says:

Check out those ingredients at the end of the list…they help preserve.

  13. Michelle says:

Does it oxidize? Oxidation has always been an issue everytime I buy foundations, even tinted moisturizers. My face turns orange-y even on high end foundations such as Chanel or Nars ugh.

  14. Sesame says:

It does not for me but oxidization happens cos of the mix with your natural facial oils. You might need a primer to help your makeup stay oxidize-free.

Every woman do have their own preferences. A make up kit of its own and mostly recommended right? Its a good thing also that many chooses naturally made of products to ensure healthy and more vibrant effects.

Many naturally formulated makeup are less vibrant in colors though.

    help colour matching

    Hi there
I urgently need some help colour matching living nature fluid foundation. In MAC terms i am a NC15 in winter and only slighly darker in summer not even NC20. Yesterday i went to a LN seller and she colour matched me to PURE FAWN and did not even test other colours on me. When i got home and opened the bottle i was shocked….its sooooo orange. I will return this one!

Here my question: would you suggest PURE BUFF or PURE SAND for my NC15-20 skin?

Any tipps and help very welcomed!
    Greetings from switzerland
    Bridget

  21. Sesame says:

My apologies Brigitte…I’m not familiar with Mac products and have no idea what’s the color. I use pure sand cos I’m fair but have yellow undertones. Howabout emailing LN directly? They probably know better in terms of color match.
