Beauty Kitchen: healthy brekkie with iHerb snacks

Hot Oatmeal Breakfast

Look what’s for my breakfast recently—snacks from iHerb! Yeah, I realized that iHerb stocks some great snacks, many of which are not available here or are a lot cheaper compared to what we get off the shelves. So I’ve been ordering a few items to try and found these that make for a quick, nutritious and great tasting breakfast—oatmeal and wild berry mix. And all I need is a bowl and hot water and my breakfast is ready in an instant!

Alrighty, don’t turn up your nose just as yet. Oatmeal isn’t the best in terms of taste but the oatmeal here tastes great because it contains apple and cinnamon. In fact, I could even taste the small chunks of dried apples. Although this is instant oatmeal, but many of the ingredients are organic and it bears the USDA Certified Organic label.

Nature's Path Apple Cinnamon Hot Oatmeal

I wasn’t so keen on oats until Cassie wrote how oats made a great beauty food because it can increase your fiber intake to help keep your skin blemish-free and clear. However, I was reluctant to eat the traditional oats and neither did I want to cook any. So the Nature’s Path Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal is just perfect for me. Each box contains 8 packets of instant oatmeal and cost US$3.82.

Eden-Organic-Wild-Berry-Mix

To make my oatmeal more interesting, I throw in a handful of the Eden Organic Wild Berry Mix. You can add fresh fruits if you like but I really prefer dried fruits and nuts. The combination sort of gives the oatmeal more “texture” and flavor.

Hot Instant Oatmeal

I’m going to order more packs of the apple cinnamon oatmeal. They’re really fuss-free and a bowl of oatmeal makes quite a hearty breakfast that keeps my hunger pangs away for a few hours.

Yay! I love buying food from iherb and it’s true that a lot of food/supplements sold on iHerb are marked up significantly here in Singapore. For example, I bought this green powder from iHerb for around $24 but in Singapore, it cost almost $50!

I also don’t like oatmeal on its own — it feels too gooey in the mouth. But when mixed with fruits, nuts and other spices and non-dairy milk, it’s not too bad. 🙂

Yeah, I’ll rather buy from iHerb cos it’s also fresher in that sense cos it’s a direct import.

Hi, does iherb ship to Singapore? If yes, do you have any idea around how much it will cost?

Yes, they do. If you choose global priority mail by DHL which will take around 2 – 3 weeks, it’s a flat rate of US$4 for orders over US$40 and under US$80. If over US$80, choose DHL express that takes a few days and cost around US$14 – US$15, depending on the quantity.

Okay thanks, but which one do you usually choose for shipping? Do they offer Paypal as one of their payment methods?

No PayPal unfortunately. Have to use debit or credit card. I opted for the normal shipping when I ordered under $80 but last two shipments I used DHL cos my order exceeded the amount. With the normal shipping, some readers have said sometimes the items get lost but for me, so far so good.

For orders over US$40 and under US$80 what do you suggest?

normal shipping or global priority mail by DHL?

It depends on your priorities…can’t say for sure. Try looking up their best sellers. DHL would be more secure for sure and a lot quicker.

I am from the USA, and I love iHerb. Not only for skin care products, but also for food. Recently, I bought organic olive oil from them which is cheaper than at my local store, plus free shipping.

I love Nature’s Path oath meal, and believe it or not, I ate it today (maple version). 🙂

Maple version? Is that nice? I’m thinking of trying other flavors too.

ooh! I’ve been a fan of iherb’s many snacks too 😡 been getting biscuits, cookies and organic chocolate and many random other snacks. not good for my pocket. I really like Eden’s dried nuts and fruits! 😉 it’s rather pricey on iherb too as compared to Unity and other local places stocking it.

I’ve not compared the Eden prices but many of the other snacks I buy for my son is cheaper by 20 to 40%.
