If you haven’t already heard, using mineral makeup is one of the newest trends and many dermatologists,  skincare experts and leading esthetician schools have been recommending such natural cosmetics from foundations, eye shadows to lipsticks.  

Jane Iredale and Bare Escentuals i.d. bareMinerals are two of the more well-known mineral makeups out there. But there are many others, including some established brand names like Urban Decay and L’Oreal that have added mineral makeup to their product lists.

I was looking at my picture the other day and was dismayed at how I look.  My cheeks are not as taut as before and I could really do with some help.  So out of curiosity, I did a search on the types of non-surgical procedure facelifts and found some interesting information on this aesthetic website regarding skin care treatment.

Optimum time for beauty sleep

Taiwanese celebrity Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) recently unveiled her second beauty book (美容大王2) which I’ve yet to read.  The tips in her first beauty book were average but there were a few worth taking note, in particular the one about removing eye bags and dark under eye circles.  

Her remedy is actually simple.  Nothing expensive or elaborate.  Just remove them via beauty sleep.  But it is not just about getting the normal eight hours of sleep.

Flaxseed oil for beauty

I have junked the collagen supplements in favour of the cheaper and more beneficial flaxseed oil capsules these days. 

Flaxseed oil is a natural source of omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs) which is good for maturing, dry skin as well as skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. In fact, it is one of the most easily available healthy fats which I’ve wrote about.
