Are you a shoeaholic? You are? Well, I admire you. Because I find it difficult to buy shoes. Nah, I am no Miss Big Foot. Neither am I Miss Tiny Dainty Feet. But I just have very specific (read: boring) ideas about them. One, they must show my toes. Two, they must be comfortable to walk in. Three, they must look good on my feet. Four, they should make me look taller. Five, they must not cost too much. With these sort of criteria, I somehow end up buying similar looking shoes after awhile.
I realized that we have very talented ladies in the blogging circuit and I’m not talking about makeup skills or photography flair. I’m talking about ladies who are gifted with deft fingers to handcraft works of wearable art like this colorful nest of what looks like eggs but are really skittles! Delicious looking? You bet! And no, you can’t eat those skittles because they’re baked from clay with no sugar added. Ha!
It’s no secret that I love handmade jewelry but within the category, my heart goes to those that are vintage inspired, particularly those that look rather aged. There’s just something enchanting about them – maybe it’s because of the antique feel, perhaps it’s due to the nostalgic inspiration or it could be just the dreamy appeal – I’m not exactly sure. But one thing I know is that they make great conversation pieces because they usually look quite unique.
The folks at Shopbop are really clever because they were able to heighten my interest to actually spend time over two days trying to grab this ordinary looking Marc by Marc Jacobs Revolution Zip Tote just because it was on sale. It was actually a matter of “the fastest fingers win” because bags from the Marc by Marc Jacobs label are really popular and so only a limited number were released for sale at certain hours. I had already missed a couple of bags from the label and so I was forced to strategize. How?
My husband says the most unkind words to me when it comes to what I wear. Actually downright mean and exasperating most of the time but he has a way of making it sound so funny, I usually can’t help but laugh out loud. Like when he saw this spikes necklace, the first thing he said was that it reminded him of a bulldog cartoon. And you know what? It occurred to me that he was…right. (o_O)
