I know some friends of mine will always try to look their best and be in the tip top condition even when they are feeling a little under the weather. Looking back, knowing some of them for ten years now, I have never once seen them looking sloppy or even looking like they are suffering from fatigue despite their whining and complaints. It’s a different story for myself entirely though. When I’m not feeling well or tired, it really shows in my eyes even if I make efforts to conceal it. So over the years, I’m less bothered about hiding my discomfort if I’m not feeling well and have to be out running an errand.
I have always been very safe when it comes to my makeup. I tend to choose very muted and safe colours, and more than often, I come across as under dressed than over dressed for special occasions. I have this worry of over dressing and looking like a clown somehow; strange, but very real in my irrational train of thoughts. Lately, however, I have decided to make little changes in my makeup kit. I have decided to be more adventurous and venture into colours I have never tried before.
Due to the problem of yucky white film I’ve been getting on my lips, I stayed away from lipsticks for quite a long time—almost a year! But recently, I started wearing them again and I’ve been rotating between two creamy lipsticks from Paul Pender. They’re quite pretty and very wearable and I thought I’ll share my love by giving 5 of them away too. Say YAY?
After noticing the increase in eyelash fall out during the removal of my mascara, I have been on the lookout for a natural alternative of mascara that functions as well as the commercialized ones but without the harsh chemicals. I have tried a few organic brands of mascaras before and found them to be average and a little pricey for their less than stellar performance. But I think I may have finally found my holy grail of natural mascaras in Dr. Hauschka’s Volumizing Mascara.
