JASON Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil
Monday, 22 October 2007
Since my last mention about the beauty benefits of Vitamin E, I’ve gone to purchase a bottle of JASON Natural Cosmetics Certified Organic Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil 14,000 IU and have been using it to moisturize my neck and parts of my body. However, I’ve not used it on my face because I find it too rich and sticky. And even when using on my body, I add a few drops and mix it with my body lotion for application just twice a week or so.
Vitamin E is said to be a powerful antioxidant and is widely known for its scar and wound healing properties. The oil is also effective in preventing inflammation, and may help to prevent skin damage and soothe any burns if applied within eight hours after sun exposure.
JASON Natural Cosmetics Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil is combined with sunflower, safflower and avocado oils to nourish dry and dehydrated skin. It is said to condition and protect skin to help seal in needed moisture and Vitamin E.
Night treatment
I agree that this is great for dry skin, although I would state that it should not to be used on a daily basis. In addition, I find this beauty oil should only be used as a treatment in the night so that it can be better absorbed. My neck for example, don’t feel so sticky the morning after.
I’ve read reviews on Makeupalley of women who have had good results using this to hydrate and claiming that it helped diminished fine lines around their eyes. But still, I refuse to use it on mine and rather use my Rose Hip Oil instead, keeping the Vitamin E Oil purely for body treatment only. I have to concede that when applied sparingly on the body, JASON Natural Cosmetics Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil helps to smoothen the skin texture and keep it feeling soft. I definitely think the skin on my neck looks smoother than before.
Despite the benefits, there are two things that deter me from buying this product again. One is the packaging. JASON Natural Cosmetics Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil comes in a glass pour bottle which means you’re likely to use too much of it at one time. The other is the smell. I don’t know why others find the almond bark smell pleasant but it definitely turns me off.
JASON Natural Cosmetics Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil is certified organic and retails at S$28 before any discounts at Dargon Dors Cosmetics #03-1126, 32 New Market Road (People’s Park Complex). If you’re buying it online, you can get it for much lesser through shopzilla.com.

L’Occitane Almond Body Care Range
Wednesday, 19 September 2007I received L’Occitane Almond Body Care travel size kit under the Amande range sometime back which consisted of three items:
- L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil;
- L’Occitane Almond Delicious Paste; and
- L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate.
All three products smell delicious with their almond enriched nourishing and softening properties. They leave you smelling like a walking sweet almond cake literally and hence you’ll get extreme comments depending on your personal preference. Some call it divine. Some say it’s off putting. But whatever it is, the aroma is definitely STRONG.
Of the lot, my favourite is the L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate, which is also their bestseller. This is a silky, almost cream like concentrated milk that nourishes and smoothes the skin. It supposedly helps to firm and tone the body, especially the breasts I was told. I haven’t seen uplifting effects but I do love how moisturized my skin feels and how I smell with this concentrate. But the 200ml jar is expensive at S$88.
The next product that I like of the three is the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil, also another customer favourite. I was initially uncomfortable to use oil to bathe but was surprised that this shower oil transforms into a lavish, softening foam once in contact with water. It doesn’t lather much but it does keep the skin clean and leave it soft. Only thing is this shower oil is good in so far if your skin isn’t too dirty or greasy. Plus it isn’t cheap at S$37 for 250ml. Hence, I would say it is good as an occasional pampering treat.
The last product of the slate is the L’Occitane Almond Delicious Paste which contains crushed almond nuts and sugar crystals, whipped with nourishing almond oil and almond butter to stimulate cellular activity and gently exfoliate skin. I don’t like this at all because I find that it leaves a sort of sticky film over my skin. This is supposed to be a scrub so I expect to feel thoroughly exfoliated. But no, nothing of that. In fact, I felt I was applying goo all over my body with this. Well, if we’re reviewing it in terms of the name then, I would say, yes, it does what it calls itself. A paste at S$70 for 200ml!
While I love L’Occitane range, I don’t see myself spending money to purchase any of these three items. They have their merits and some of them are truly nice to have, but hey, there are more stuff that are really nice to have out there!

EO Body Lotion French Lavender
Wednesday, 5 September 2007
My fave organic skincare product supplier at People’s Park brought in a whole lot of products from EO recently and since I had a good experience with the the EO Lemon Verbena Shower Gel, I decided to get the EO Everyday Body Lotion French Lavendar this time round.
I love this stuff. While technically it’s called a lotion, but in reality, I would call this a cream. The texture is rich but is well absorbed by my skin leaving no greasy film. And the smell is gorgeously fresh and not overpowering at all.
EO Everyday Body Lotion French Lavendar contains Vitamins A& E and is made with pure French Lavender essential oil as well as organic herbal infusions like organic Chamomile flowers, organic Aloe Vera, Organic Calendula Flowers and Organic White Tea Leaf.
The 240ML bottle retails for S$28.50 before any discounts at Dargon Dors Cosmetics #03-1126, 32 New Market Road (People’s Park Complex) but it’s only US$6.05 online at Shopzilla.com.
The only gripe I have about this product is that it should come in a tube as the cream is thick and difficult to be dispensed from the existing container. I have to leave it upside down always in order to be able to use this on a daily basis. Nevertheless I would continue to use this product and may try out their other scents like Jasmine or Lemon Verbana.
EO is relatively unknown but if you’re in the market for organic skincare products, you may know that their products are certified organic and are highly recommended. For more information about their range of products, look up their website at www.eoproducts.com.

Burt’s Bees Radiance Body Lotion
Wednesday, 8 August 2007
Burt’s Bees Radiance Body Lotion is one of the newer offerings from the good people at Burt’s Bees.
This is supposed to be a shimmering body lotion and yet I’m using this mostly in the night. I guess I will only start to use it in the day once I’m done with my L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Shimmering Lotion. But I don’t think it matter so much because I bought it to enjoy the radiance benefits, not so much for the shimmering effects.
The lotion is specially formulated with Royal Jelly to enhance skin radiance and contains sunflower oil to moisturize and mica to enhance skin’s natural glow. I like the texture, which is not too rich, yet it feels sufficiently nourishing to the skin. Because it isn’t that creamy, it is easy to apply and doesn’t leave a sticky film on the skin. And while it is said that we can apply it on our face, I strictly use it on my neck, arms and sometimes legs. Frankly, I’m not keen to have my face looking all that shiny either.
The 177ml tube cost S$18 from whoopeekiddies.com, which is really reasonable because it’s made of natural goodness. I only wish it smells better because the scent, probably from the sunflower oil, is quite strong and not something that I take to that well. But otherwise I’m very happy using this product on a long term basis.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Tropical
Wednesday, 25 July 2007
I am not much of a perfume lover but I have to concede that I was completely wowed by Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Tropical.
Despite the unexciting name, this is a very refreshing fragrance which is actually a new and better element to their Green Tea Scent.
While the fragrance features an infusion of lychee, passion fruit, Mexican dragon fruit, green tea, Chinese Magnolia, sea moss and tropical blackberries, this isn’t your typical ultra fruity sweet fragrance. It’s a lot lighter, yet very uplifting. A scent that is good for the soul I would say.
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Tropical is available in two sizes; 50ml at S$52 and 100ml at S$73. And you might like to know that it was listed as one of the six best spring fragrances according to UKTV Style.
