Refreshing & uplifting: A’kin hair & body products

Akin Refreshing & uplifting: Akin hair & body products

I realized that about this time last year, I had reviewed some of the skin care products under A’kin. So it’s kind of funny that a year later, I’m reviewing some of their products again, and this time on their hair and body range. I had first purchased a sort of 3-in-1 value pack that included an A’kin Mandarin Shampoo, an A’kin Jojoba & Lavender Light Conditioner and an A’kin Orange Blossom Body Wash. Then just earlier this week, I took advantage of the GSS to buy the A’kin Lavender Body Wash.

Since discovering that oily shampoo can make my hair oilier, I went on a hunt for a naturally formulated shampoo for normal hair. I decided to give BOD Premium Blend Shampoo a try since I like their BOD White Tea Cleansing Gel and this shampoo is described to be of salon quality and suitable for all hair types. Like the BOD cleanser, this shampoo is made with certified organic ingredients, essential oils and herbal extracts ; it is free of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), propylene glycol and parabens.

Besides the rosemary hair rinse that I’ve been using quite frequently, I’ve also been using the Phyto Phytopolleine Universal Elixir Scalp Stimulant about twice a week for about a month now. In fact, I’ve just finished the bottle I purchased during a sale at Watsons and am going to wait till the next sale to get my next bottle. So yes, I like this because I think it’s helping to purifying my scalp and possibly strengthening my hair.

Have you seen the sample bottles of Nature’s Gate Organics haircare range sold at Guardian Pharmacy? They look really cute! Two of them are going for S$4.90 and it was a good size for testing. I picked up the volumizing shampoo and conditioner for fine hair as I recalled some readers left me positive feedback about them. The shampoo lasted me almost two weeks, with daily washes and two washes each time. The conditioner is probably able to last me over a month since I use very little of it each time.
