Handmade jewelry from Thailand

Bracelet, 'Captivating'

This modern and feminine cool blue turquoise cuff bracelet is designed and handmade by Anusara Konkam from Thailand who is currently studying in the final year of a vocational degree in accounting.

Anusara loves art and nature and her interest in handmade jewelry actually started when she was a child, weaving jasmine garlands which were sold to help support her studies.

Ted Baker Camouflage Diamante Bag

I love camo couture.  I don’t really care if it is so totally out of season already.  Wear it sparingly, like in the form of accessories and no one should complain it’s too loud and off fashion.

Which was why I was totally drawn to this hip Ted Baker camouflage bag I saw at Vivo City a month ago.  I especially like its contrasting pink stitching and diamante rivet detailing.  Very glam looking.  But as I was in a hurry, I didn’t buy it then.  Huge mistake.  Because when I went back about a week ago, it was gone.

Quality mid-priced leather bags

Today, we are happy to have Imp of Faerie Land, a self-confessed bag snob, sharing her views on locally available mid-priced leather bags in the range of S$100 – $500, and showing us her all-time favourite pink leather tote.

Lookout for quality stitches and interiors
I find quality extremely lacking in the mid-priced bags available in Singapore.

As a matter of fact, mid-priced bags are rarely made of leather.  They are usually done in synthetic leather that flakes off after a couple of months.

The Imelda Collection

Former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos has just unveiled her very own jewelry line under The Imelda Collection in Manila.

Apparently, these are a concoction of scraps, finds from the flea market or castoffs from her old wardrobe and include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, pins, combs and even cuff links made from a combination of glass beads, gemstones and gold-plated chains.

According to Mrs Marcos, the idea for a jewellery collection came from her grandson, Martin “Borgy” Manotoc, who told her: “You are creating beautiful things like jewels from practically garbage.”
