Is it strange if I told you I got myself this pair of eyeglasses to usher in a new phase in my life? And if you’re wondering if it’s because I want to change my image, the answer is no although I reckon it does that somewhat. Actually, I already have a pair of eyeglasses but it was outdated and since I’ve decided not to use contact lenses so frequently, I went ahead to invest in a better looking eyeglasses for daily wear. And thank God, this pair is very lightweight and doesn’t leave deep marks on my nose bridge.
My contact lenses have been irritating my eyes so much that I had to remove and dump them on the way back home today. So that’s it! I’ve made the decision to switch to using glasses and I will only use contact lenses sparingly. I haven’t gone shopping for my new pair of glasses yet but I’m currently looking for some ideas; the last one I got was too heavy and nerdy looking and I think I’ll try something smaller and lighter this round.
I love scarves and these from Turkey caught my eyes with their unique designs. They’re called pashmina scarves at the online store but looking at the price and the description, they appear to be really just cotton scarves. Still, I love the versatility because they can double up as necklaces or lariats with their interesting edges. And there are plenty of designs and colors to choose from – many of them are marked as handmade too.
The 1980s pop icon Feng Fei Fei (鳳飛飛), who passed away on January 3, was also known as the ‘Hat Diva’ for the outlandish hats that she wore on stage. Apparently, she has more than 400 hats to her name! I used to like her quite a bit, and particularly loved to check out the hats she wore during performances. She was in a league of her own when it comes to her fashion choices and the elegant hats she wore definitely reflected her impeccable fashion sense.
