My hair conditioner gave me hairline pimples

Over the past two months, I noticed that I’ve had some bumps on my forehead, very near my hairline. I was told that any pimple or acne on the forehead is usually caused by insufficient sleep or stress and so I left them, thinking that they will subside. They didn’t and I started suspecting my hair products to be the cause because the bumps were not really acne but more like pimples caused by clogged pores. Thank goodness there were just a few.

Is your cleansing oil causing your skin problems?

Although I’m pretty tardy in replying to emails, I’m always thankful that readers take time to send me their questions or concerns as I find myself learning something new in the process each time. Like last week, a reader by the name of Alexandra asked me about the usage of cleansing oils. She was keen on double cleansing and had bought a bottle of cleansing oil to replace her cleansing milk. However, she wasn’t sure if she should use the oil daily as her beautician had advised her against using cleansing oil too often due to her slightly dry skin. Additionally, the sales representative who sold her the bottle of cleansing oil also recommended her to use the product only three times a week, which sounds kind of odd.

Even though I’m more inclined towards using natural and organic skin care, regular readers know that I’m not a purist. While I have a Top 10 skin care ingredients that I avoid but as a whole, I do not avoid them from a toxic standpoint but rather, a beauty standpoint such as fear of photosensitivity or skin suffocation. I can even accept some ingredients that are listed as the “dirty dozens” in my skin care and one of them is the much flogged-to-death parabens.
