I don’t really care much for fashion weeks but I do try to check Japan’s whenever I can remember because their collections tend to come with interesting designs that are either playful or eccentric. Well, I did say that I’m quite inspired by Japanese fashion. So this week is where the Japanese designers showcase their Spring/Summer 2011 collection at the current 11th Japan Fashion Week taking place in Tokyo and here are some of the noteworthy collections.
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Products

A few weeks ago, I was sent the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) range, comprising the SHA Moisturizing Lotion, the SHA Hydrating Essence and the SHA Hydrating Face Wash to review. Launched by Rohto-Mentholatum Singapore, Hada Labo is positioned as a simple, minimalist and highly effective skincare brand to attain water-radiant skin based on its “Perfect x Simple, no more no less” philosophy. Unnecessary additives such as alcohol, colorant, fragrance and mineral oil that will burden the skin are excluded. Instead, beneficial ingredients such as the Hyaluronic Acid are included. Their slogan “one drop locks up an ocean” really make their products sound very hydrating. So are they really so?
Hada Labo products coming to Singapore
Finally! If you’ve been following me on my facebook, you would have learnt about this earlier. Yes, Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Moisturising Lotion, the top-selling cult-product in Japan with 1 bottle reported to be sold every 4 seconds, will be launched in Singapore sometime in June, along with the full ranges in moisturising, whitening and exfoliating. I’ve agreed to take the products for a spin so stay tuned for my review!

Beauty makeovers: what would you like to be?

A glamorous babe? An enhanted princess? Or maybe a runaway model? For me, I’m not quite sure. Maybe it’s the punk rock inspiration complete with smoky eyes and disheveled style although I doubt I can carry it off because it it takes a certain kind of attitude to look that part too. So I had no idea what to expect when I was invited to the Shiseido makeover session on Thursday. I accepted the invitation out for some quest for fun, but really, I was slightly afraid that they’re going to make me look over-the-top! The last time I had a makeover was during my wedding and I could hardly recognize myself with all the heavy makeup. I was literally, uncomfortable in my own skin!
