DIY Beauty: Anti-aging fix with eggs

Eggs for beauty

Eggs are really useful. Small as they are, they are nutritious when consumed and are great beauty aids. Come to think of it, eggs must be the first natural ingredient I’ve ever used on my face too because they are always available and are so easy to use. All you need is to break an egg, remove the egg yolk and apply the egg white as a mask for an instant face lift! That’s because the proteins in the eggs act to tone and firm the skin; helping to reduce the appearance of pores on the skin and giving us smoother looking skin, temporarily. Hence, eggs are a great beauty fix!

DIY Beauty: Rhassoul clay for oily thin hair

Rhassoul Clay

I received a sample packet of Moroccan Rhassoul clay from Yours Essentially sometime back and didn’t quite know what to do with it. I didn’t want to use it as a mask on my face and so I ran a search on the Web and found that Rhassoul clay can also be used as a shampoo to remove dandruff or excess sebum from the scalp. Hair washed with the clay is said to become soft and shiny with more volume. Plus some users were even commenting that the clay can help reduce the need for frequent hair washing. And that all sounded great to me because I have a peculiar hair condition characterized by fine, thin and oily hair which I have to wash daily.

Benefits of the oil cleansing method

I’ve mentioned in my entry on the benefits of Jojoba Seed Oil that I’ve been experimenting with the oil cleansing method (OCM). It’s been some weeks now and one of the most evident benefit for me has been the almost complete eradication of the blackheads on my nose. I have stopped using baking soda or tomatoes so I’m sure that the blackheads were removed due to my new cleansing routine. And it’s not just me because two of my readers, Florence and Ms Blacklace also shared their good experiences of using oil to cleanse their face and I thought I’ll share their comments here.

DIY Beauty: Evening Primrose Oil for acne

Evening Primrose Oil

I didn’t have much luck using evening primrose oil for my PMS but surprisingly, I have better luck applying them topically on my skin. In fact, I was so pleased with the effects that I have been using this oil almost every other night now.
