Bobbi Brown long-wear gel eyeliner

My best friend San has been waxing lyrical about this innovative eyeliner which offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula.

She said this gel is best applied using Bobbi Brown’s ultra fine eyeliner brush.

“Draw as close to the top lashes as possible, making it curve up a little at the outer corner.  Practise makes perfect.  If you’re not sure, start with a short line, then dip more when the brush run out of gel.”

Instant cuticle grooming on the go

Mavapen

I am far from manicurious but I do like to have my nails looking good, especially around the nail contour.  So I always carry a Mavapen in my bag which I can whip out to groom my cuticles anytime, anywhere.

Just one application, and the handy pen containing nutritive oil actually softens the skin and gently loosens cuticles from the nail surface, making my nails look well manicured, even if they aren’t exactly so.

I particularly favour Mavapen, which is available at Mavala counters and selected Sasa stores, probably because it was one of the earlier ones available in the local market.  It is neither greasy nor messy to apply and the smell is rather pleasant.  Manicare is another brand which carries similar products.

Caring too much is deadly for women

Caring too much for others and failing to take care of ourselves could potentially be deadly.  Said the health experts who presented at The International Council on Women’s Health Issues (ICOWHI) this week.

According to an article at Physorg.com, Associate Professor Patricia Davidson from the University of Western Sydney’s School of Nursing and co-convenor of the ICOWHI Congress said that a range of forces like work and family pressures are placing extra stresses on women’s health and well being – putting us at higher risk of diseases and illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

Bloom lipstick

When I first saw Bloom cosmetics at Sasa, I told myself I have to buy something from the range.  Never mind what.  Because their packaging is just simple, clean and pretty.  So yesterday when I was thinking of a new lipstick, I decided to get a Bloom.

Available in satin, sheer, matte, shimmer and glitter finishes in a palette of 12 modern shades ranging from neutrals to intense tones, each lipstick includes Bloom’s trademark ‘lip’ flavour, which is vanilla and mandarin essential oils.
