Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm

I’m on the path of no return when it comes to Burt’s Bees.  Just one lip balm and I’m a confirmed convert.

In fact, since the last time I wrote about their Beewax Lip Balm, I’ve grown fonder of that lip balm by the day.  While it isn’t very moisturising, it really keeps my lips hydrated as long as I do not wipe, wash or eat it off.

So today, I went back to Dargon Dors Cosmetics (Kim Leng Store) at People’s Park Complex with the intention of buying their Honey Lip Balm tube.

Instead, I bought Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm With Pomegranate Oil.  This is their latest lip balm and yes, it contains the antioxidant goodness of pomegranate!  And I have to say with much glee that this new lip balm deserves all the stars it can get.

This is definitely more hydrating and moisturising than their original beewax lip balm.  I love the smooth texture once I glide it on and my lips instantly felt very emollient without being heavy.  No peppermint smell or spicy taste.  This one has a very refreshing sweet herbal scent.   Almost good enough to be eaten.  And I suppose it can, considering it is 99.6% natural with the ingredients that it contains:

Sunflower seed oil, beeswax, coconut oil, castor oil, lanolin, comfrey root, pomegranate oil, sweet almond oil, anise oil, cassia oil, cinnamon leaf oil, clary sage oil, mandarin oil, tocopheryl acetate & tocopherol (vitamin E), rosemary leaf extract, carmine & fragrance.

This 4.25g twist up tube with a pull-off cap cost me S$6.50 but could be lesser if you buy it online at whoopeekiddies.com.  The lip balm takes on the plum colour but leaves only a pinkish tinge on my lips.  Definitely goes well under my lipstick.  I wore it for a good half of the day and I did not suffer any flakings, which means it passed my most critical lip balm test.  And the best part is that when I took it off with the tissue, my lips still felt rather supple and soft.

I would recommend this lip balm for people with dry or chapped lips an even those with sensitive skin since it’s 99.6% natural.  The pomegranate oil is definitely a plus as it will work well to protect pouts from pollution and sun damage with its antioxidant and anti-aging properties.

Definitely lip-smacking goodness!

Glad to read about this cos I am contemplating ordering one fr Whoopee… so nice to hear that we can share some common loves in natural stuff… Burt’s Bees!

Doris: Yeah, get it. It’s great! Btw, I also bought the Badger anti-bug for my boy after reading your entry. Anyway, now that I’ve checked out the range at Kim Leng, I’ll most likely buy from whoopee next round cos they’re definitely cheaper.

Totally agree!!! This is by far my favourite lip balm as many others failed me without the ability to keep the flakiness at bay. And like you said, this smells yummy too~ <3
