L’Occitane ultra care for sensitive skin

L'Occitane Ultra Comforting Shea & Organic Cotton Facial Skincare Range

Just days into the new year, L’Occitane has already launched a new skincare range targeting specifically at those with sensitive skin.  The series, Ultra Comforting Shea & Organic Cotton Facial Skincare, is marketed as hypoallergenic and is said to soothe and protect even the most delicate skin as the products have been formulated without perfumes, colorants, alcohols or preservatives to minimize the risk of allergic reactions that sensitive skins are prone to.

L’Occitane Ultra Comforting Shea & Organic Cotton range consists of 4 products:

  1. Ultra Comforting Cleansing Milk 200ml S$33
  2. Ultra Comforting Serum 15ml S$62
  3. Ultra Comforting Cream 20ml S$63
  4. Ultra Comforting Mask 75ml S$60

The Ultra Comforting Serum is said to be a must-have SOS product because it is specially formulated with shea butter, organic cotton extract, liquorice extract and natural alpha-bisabolol to soothe the sensitive skin and keep it hydrated for 24 hours.

According to L’Occitane, Shea Butter has remarkable moisturizing properties, accelerates cellular renewal and repairs the hydrolipidic film for soft, nourished and more supple skin.  Organic Cotton Extract softens the skin while skin regains its suppleness.  Liquorice Extract and Alpha-Bisabolol on the other hand soothe and minimize redness, providing immediate comfort while evening out the skin tone.

Since I don’t have sensitive skin, I won’t be trying out this range but I’m aware that L’Occitane’s products works well for those with sensitive skin.  A reader of mine, Happy Feet, who has sensitive skin for example, gave a glowing review on L’Occitane Honey Comfort Mask about six months ago.  So never mind what I wrote about hypoallergenic cosmetics recently, I believe this new Ultra Comforting Shea & Organic Cotton range should work well to justify its purpose.

And those in Singapore maybe interested to know that from now till Feb 4, a Shea Butter Travel Set consisting of 5 items will be given away with purchase of S$160 inclusive of one Shea Butter product.

i have to tell you that your blog spurred me to try many things. L’Occitane is one of them. I love the smell of the products but unfortunately I am sensitive to it and break out. I had to give away the set ? I don’t dare to try this Ultra Sensitive range so i think I’ll stick to Jurlique for now ?

Tracy: I guess different skin reacts differently. Trigger points for breakout differ for each. I know of pple with sensitive skin who has no problems with L’Occitane but I also know of some who broke out big time with it.
